Hey guys, I'm looking to work on both my deadlifts and iso stretching for my splits. How should the timing work if I want to train both? Should I do them both on the same day or separately?

I have understood that isometrics and training are beneficial to do in the way that first you do your training and after that you do the isometrics because your muscles are warmed up properly. Do not do the stretching immediately after the training because your muscle-mechanims aren't working perfectly, so keep a pause of couple of hours before stretching

wait, I don't get it. after training, your muscles are properly warmed up but then you need to wait a couple of hours afterwards? by then your muscles are no longer warmed up.

Well, I don't know what I was babbling about :dead:; I have only heard that it's better to keep a pause (muscles do not cool that fast). But this is what Juji says:

"Isometric stretching should be applied at the end of your tricking or training session. It should take between 10-25 minutes for most people, but it ultimately depends on how many isometric stretches you are including and your conditioning level. If you want to apply isometrics separate from a training session, include it after an extended warmup with some preliminary sets of strength movements: Preferably movements spanning a full range of motion." :juji:

Well after your deadlift session your muscles will be tired. So, if you want maximal tensing in your isometric stretch, I suggest you wait a bit before doing your isometric stretches.

Also, it is better to add your isometric on the same day as your leg workout.

I thought that it would be better to train splits after lifting because the muscles are already tired, so it would dampen the stretch reflex contraction. Is this not correct?

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS DO YOUR DEADLIFTS FOLLOWED BY RELAXED STRETCHING IF YOUR MUSCLES AREN'T STRONG ENOUGH. IF THEY ARE STRONG ENOUGH DO ISOMETRICS

I do splits between every set during a leg workout. Not isometric though.

I saw some dude yesterday doing hamstring stretches, attempting the front splits, but not succeeding & doing the road kill stretch in between every set of pull-ups, in the middle of the freeweight area & he wasn't even flexible & at all! He was also like...24-30years old.:dead:I want to kill him so bad,I've gotta stop thinking about him.

Oh shit! Since when has >gotta< been in the English dictionary!? I thought it was super-slang! Oh..wait...English is a bunch of bullshit.:good:
