Hey everyone! I'm a new trickster and I've picked it up pretty quickly, however, there is one move that is escaping my grasp. The butterfly twist!

My b-kick is high, powerful, and horizontal. I have a bit of trouble rotating. Any advice on how to spin horizontally.

p.s

I'm trying to model my b-twist after this one:

thanx in advance,

that was sweet, you have mad stall

to spin fast you need to look over your shoulder, keep your head neutral, back straight, your body tight

I really like your btwist the way it is though

edit:
whoops, read the original post wrong

Sleepy, I fucking love you. Your aerials and b-twists are soo awesome, I'm glad that you joined TT now.
That b-twist doesn't deserve help, it's freaking perfect!

Hate to break it to you guys, but I aint sleepy! I'm just modeling mine after his. I have a high b-kick like his, but I stop rotating early.

your head is what rotates you, so make sure you are looking over your shoulder until your spot the ground, at which point you will proceed to kick your leg out.

That is so funny because as a new trickster, twisting was like the easiest thing for me. Doing the degree related kicks were my problem. But anyway, have you tried tucking your arms in while you twist. Do it as if you are hugging yourself. just make sure your arms pick up a lot of speed and momentum before you tuck. If done right it should work perfectly.

I have been tucking, but the turning my head is definitely the problem. I Look but I still and up losing rotation. My friend told me that me legs are splitting apart just slightly, might that be the problem?

for the best efficiency spinning, you need the smallest moment of inertia along your z-axis, which we will say is along your spine more or less

so you want your arms and legs in close to your body, legs tucked out spread will slow down your twist

but for a single btwist you shouldn't have to worry about the wrap a whole lot, just make sure to keep looking for the ground, and complete your twist

Thanks for your advice guys! Yesterday I pulled of my first B-Twists. I only have two more questions:

1. How do I keep from falling forward when I land?

2. How do I make my body remember the motion?
