Pop Swipe ?

Yesterday i tried a pop swipe. I need help so that my Pop Swipe looks like Seshs :amazed: or is my pop swipe good enought :cool::tongue:

I'm not exactly sure what the pop swipe is, but the one sessh does looks like a pop hyper round kick where you invert a little bit.

What you did wasn't really that but it WAS more interesting... I would call it a hyper double leg... or maybe a single leg switch. Possibly either a double leg setup into a 540 or a parafuso where you bypass the leg "impact."

It's a sideswipe from a pop setup.

I don't really know/care much about this move but I think it really could be that simple.

try doing a flashkick from an angle.
tbh i think yours look a little too much like pop5s, kuhl. it looks good, dont get me wrong, but i think you need to invert earlier in the move.

yeah popswipe is that thing marinas does out of a raiz and then sometimes follows through with a second kick

the real "pop swipe" that sesh does is done from a backside stance. its like a standing flash, but you turn 90 degrees and swipe across, instead of over your head.

If you watch carefully he only 'inverts' (hips above head) for a moment after throwing the kick.

Put it this way: If this was from a cheat setup would it be considered a Sideswipe?

Also... (Just checked the club540 page) Sesshoumaru is technically starting in a backside stance.

Perhaps we should consider differentiating between the two.

Pop setup = Pop Swipe

Backside setup = Backside Swipe ???

Personally, I can't see that catching on. But there definitely seem to be two ways to perform this move.

I had forgotten all about the term 'Valera Flash'. :punched:

i'm still going to stand by my ideals of a pop swipe is a pop double leg with a swipe instead of the double leg. It isn't like a flash kick at all. It should be a single leg with the swiping leg.

Yes, my preferred terminology would be:

Pop Swipe - Pop takeoff into an inverted swiping kick.

Backside Swipe - Backside takeoff into an inverted swiping kick.

(Valera Flash - [if I remember correctly] A Kim Do Kick with a front kick which explodes directly upward at the peak of the move instead of a split kick.)
