Hey guys,

I've been working on getting my tornado's to be fast and high from a slow stepping set up. I feel that I can 540, but my leg keeps dropping down or getting in the way of the kick. Any advice would be appreciated.

now to get that embarrassment off of youtube lol.

hmm.. well what comes to mind watching this is a broader setup and skipping the pivot thingy right before you kick.. Pivoting kills a lot of height tbh (Statement: Argueable -_-).

Try moving more than lazy-sloth speed... that was quite slow and severely lacking in aggression

move quickly through the whole thing... fast setup, fast arm swing and fast, angry kick

moar emotional content! :wicked:

the setup has to get you enough height to land the kick, but you're not going to get any height on the setup if you dont put some force into it.

You really want to use your whole body to get you that height, which includes your arms... really swing them around as you do the cheat setup, and use that momentum to get some of the extra height you need.

Another thing that helped me get the 540... at some point, you just have to keep yourself from landing on your non-kicking leg, even if that means severely crashing the trick.

Unless you do that, your body never gets used to NEEDING the extra speed and height, and your non-kicking leg will just keep dropping down.

Your kick isn't going to get fast enough to beat your non-kicking leg, unless you consciously delay your non-kicking leg from hitting the ground, aka unless you chamber it and hope for the best.
