Once you're able to max the weight stack, do you guys sometimes cut the weight in half and then try doing it one leg at a time? It's really awkward because you have to brace against the seat to avoid twisting. This is improper use and I'm worried about it damaging the machine or in the very least, getting in trouble with staff for misusing it or something.
Besides trying for more RoM or reps all the time, that's the only thing I can think of.

Once you're able? I'm pretty sure any real man who has ever sat on these machines has gone directly to maxing the stack, realized what a pansy he actually is, and started squatting. Engage your glutes, et al.

First time i ever went to a gym, one of the staff was running me through my program, showing me how to do the exercises.
During the tricep pulldown phase, there was this girl on the thigh abductor/adductor machine. The one where you press your legs together and she was really feeling it, making facial impressions and everything. It was hot *drools*
From that day i on i knew i was going to love the gym...except my new gym doesnt have one of those >.<

Don't ever use that machine again. The only men I ever see using it, are guys with no clue about training, and gay guys.
There are much better exercises to do that will hit the same muscles.

i get musclular pain in my adductors on and off quite frequently and i think of using the adductor machine as a sort of prehab. i never do though. usually a few warmup sets of squats or pistols makes me forget the pain.

The only reason I've ever used this machine was to help with adductor flexibility, since I didn't feel like I could go deep enough to do effective isometric splits. That only lasted about two weeks, and then I had no more use for the machine.

The only reason I've ever used this machine was to help with adductor flexibility, since I didn't feel like I could go deep enough to do effective isometric splits. That only lasted about two weeks, and then I had no more use for the machine.
I'm not sure how good it is for splits, most of them won't even go out to the 180 required. Plus since you do them sitting, you're doing it in hip flexion, I'm not sure if that'd change it.
It also doesn't toughen the knees for force across them.
Anyway, yeah most guys can close it, but probably not using the full RoM for a good number of reps. I agree there's better exercise, but machines are really fast to set up...

Single leg exercises, x band walks, side lunges, cable ab/adductions, band ab/adductions, deadlifts, and squats with a wide stance, frog stance hack squats, and pretty much any other exercise that doesn't make you look like your training your pussy to be penetrated.

rings are way better for dips though
and people who ride horses usually have extremely strong adductors/abductor(whichever one closes your legs) so this is another option if you have a stable nearby

It's where you sit down, and there are levers hooked up to a weight stack that you move by having your legs move side to side. Adduction machine is with the pads on the inside and you squeeze in, abduction machine is with the pads on the outside and you force your legs open.
Adduction machine prevents rape, abduction machine encourages it.

Anyway, while everyone can max it out normally, it's twice as hard trying it one leg at a time so that's why I'm asking if anyone tried it. It'd be like doing a 2-arm bench machine with 1 arm.
