why are sideflips more of a freerunning move then tricking

it just came in my head because yesterday my friend wanted to battle me and i did a side flip, so later that day i saw a freerunning video and he was doing lot's of side flips....

Wich doesn't mean it's actually more of a freerunning move than a tricking one.

Although i'll admit freerunners tend to do them a lot, god knows why. Then again, i prefer sideflips more than any other flip. It just looks better for some.

but like in sampler's or any other videos you don't ever see any body do side flips ok maybe I've seen KJER do them but no other tricksters like crazy asian
or sessh. juji steve terada etc. they don't do any

Tbh in my mind iv'e kind of seen them as a free running move as well, i guess it's because it's anothing move you don't have to set up for with somthing like a round off, you can just run into it, i'd imgaine just using front flip would get boring, but trickers have other stuff to use and don't need to travel in one direction.

well i get you a little bit but still,it's like a front flip to it's mainly back flip's i see in sampler's and variations but none of the other two ????

Thats because there easier and more fun, but side and front flips are more used to keep flow and run to new diffrent places, which aren't really done in any free running samplers anymore, it's more just standing on a ledge and throwing a move e.g. the backflip and variations...

they're probably more used in freerunning because it's easy to land them, as you can see the ground throughout the whole flip, in tricking, sideflips are just boring IMHO, that's probably why you don't see them that much :tongue:

sideflips allow a much greater margain of error than front flips, and you can see the ground and your surroundings much more easily. This makes them much more convenient to so over stuff like gaps or tashcans.

If you don't frontflip high enough over a fence or whatnot, you scewer your face, whereas with a sideflip, the top of the fence would merely bend and buckle across your steel-like arms because you have been drinking copious amount of milk.......

Munks probably didn't do any yesterday because it's wet and cold, but since you mention it he did some at gym last Sunday.
