Ok so I'm new beginning tricking and my goal is to get 1 flip, kick , and twist at least in a months time. I'm aiming for the 540, b-kick, b twist, front flip, and Valdez.

I'm going out to attempt the front flip outside on the grass for the first time tomorrow. I don't have a mattress I can use, there is no gym, and I don't have a spotter (How would you even spot a front flip lol) so I just have to go "balls to the wall". I'm going to see if I borrow a camera, make a vid, and get some feedback.

Is there anything I should know before doing the flip?

Also as a last question: Lots of beginners do the 540_hook_aerial combo. I wanted to make up my own so that when I get the front flip I could try a frontflip_Foundoff_Valdez. Is this combo decent? And what are some other basic ones I could try down the road?

With the frontflip it's best just to run hard, throw your arms forward and up like superman, stall it and tuck hard. Put heaps of power and energy into and you'll find it to be very easy.
But first if you want you should really get the technique flawless on a trampoline, and then when you take it to the ground put some pillows or whatever to soften the impact.

My parents went out shopping so I have to watch the sibs. No frontflips untill they get back (They take forever it might be dark by time they do). I guess i'll work my basic kicks and hope they get back soon lol.

Thanks for the vid man. Will watch, I've seen the series before just not this particular video, His b-twists are really nice lol.

I tried a couple front flips yesterday and landed on my ass every time. I figure; from how it felt, that I was "jumping" at the ground, I did not hold my tuck tight, and that I went into the flip before the jump.

Hopefully this video will help.
