What's the best way to do push-ups? What muscles should I train for pull-ups, and what sort of excercises should I do. How to train my back muscles?

There is no best way. There are different ways.
It depends on your goals really.

Pushups - There are many forms, choose whats comfortable and allows greatest range of motion while keeping form.
Pull Ups - Main movers are Lats and biceps brachii. To get better at pullups just keep doing them, assisted if they are too difficult. then start going onto eccentric movements too.
Back - Practicly all the pulling excercises train back. Add some core excercises in too to strengthen you erector spinae muscles.

Thank you for all these responses. Right now i'm in quite a bad shape. I have lots of excess fat from which i'm trying to get rid of by looking at what i eat and cardio workouts. I have quite strong legs, but my arms are average. I can do about half a pull-up.

For your pull-ups you can use your leg to add a bit of momentum to make it easier. You will eventually get strong enaugh to do a few pull ups without using your legs.
The first pull ups are always the hardest.
Good luck.

Which half? Bottom or top? If you can't get up all the way, cheat to get through your sticking point and do very slow eccentric with isometric pauses in your weak area to build strength there.

Try doing one pullup everyday, but only one. You should be able to nail it quite fast (that's how I got my first). But when you do get one don't continue doing it everyday, the reason why it works at first because it's basically a concentric-only max attempt which doesn't tax your body very much if you're only doing it once.

When you can get one why not do it every day? It's sorta fun.

Because you need time to recover and build strength.
