I looooove metal, but i seem to be able to rock out at the gym to stuff like slower heavier rock than metal. Stuff like Sabbath or wolfmother. not that its better, it just seems to be better background music for tricking.

Kirkor
Dec-18-08, 03:29 AM
Yes slow light stuff like megadeth, sonata arctica, kamelot, wintersun, ensiferum, amon amarth, dimmu borgir, behemoth, equilibrium, kalmah, heavenly - really mellow slow stuff. But playing fast crazy shit once in a while could pump you up too like amethystium, Miles Davis, Bob Marley, Chamber.

Hardcore trance and house music for me :)

I also rock out to classic rock(stevie nicks, bob seger, meatloaf, tom petty ect.)

Really old rock like elvis and johny cash

oldschool rap

rap that is relatively new but sounds old.

classical

indie rock

That just about covers everything I listened to last session.

You are being very ignorant. Very few death metal, screamo and other genres like that talk about killing and most have very skillful screamers not just people that "scream like animals."

Yet I also enjoy rnb too like t.i , lil wayne , akon , tpain ...also if i hear a song i love on a sampler then its gonna get tricked to!
i wont rule out any genre as its the beat that usually gets me pumped , any music that can do that then ill listen to it

Lol " scream like animals" .. but i explain myself wrong on saying what is the subject of some songs. I generalized it wrong. because many months ago I went to heard a guy that talked about the history of metal and his subgeneries ( he said that in sweden there are group of peoples that go around to inflames the churches)so something I know, but don't remember all.. I like a lot of music, but I am particular about one thing:
This is usually a tricking noob's idea, but when a 4min sampler is made with maybe 3 different tricks repeated over and over (typically low backflips, bad front flips, and Fhs). These so called "people" will then proceed to use a fast paced, scream intensive song, that the tricks don't even synchronize with! I hate that so much, and there's thausands of those on YouTube, and about once a week they get posted on TT. search YouTube for noob tricking and you will find exactly what I'm talking about, with only fhs, and front flips. That's not even tricking.!.!.! Rawr!

Conclusion: death metal is ok, but in the situation illustrated above I torture and kill innocent babies for fun, just to pass the time.

So much metal! Time for a change of pace.

Red Hot Chili Peppers (how has someone not said this yet), especially their older stuff, like from Blood Sugar Sex Magik or Uplift Mofo Party Plan.

Metric - These guys are fantastic...no one's heard of them, except maybe people from Canada. They have a lot of potential for a lot of different uses. I can see their earlier stuff being on a slow-mo sampler or something, and their new-ish stuff is kind of punky.

Somebody said Imogen Heap. DAYLIGHT ROBBERY.

Others include Muse, Gang of Four, Parliament/Fankadelic, Perfect Circle, Juno Reactor, Sublime...I could go on for a while so I'll shut up :)

If you like rap, try listening to Afu-Ra. He has some really good beats, and has a good message in his lyrics also. If you like the Wu-Tang Clan, he has a similar style. He has that "shaolin" style I guess.

I've been looking for a similar style, but with its hard to find music if you dont already know the artist or whatever you're looking for. Citizen Cope has some chill songs. "Let the drummer kick" is good, but Sessh just used it in his 08 compilation.

O.k. this is my first real post since bcoming a member of TT so sorry about the length if you dont like reading long posts it's full of substance and alot of thought went into this so please consider.

I Dont intend to make people angry or be contrivertial but im sick of going on a youtube vid and hearing deafningly loud rock music to people doing gymnastics or tricking now, how does gymnastics and rock music have in common or even relate to 1 another ?
............................................Nothin g!
Also a vast amount of videos of parkour / 3running have & use all of the same tracks fort minor, linkin park or other common rock tracks all used way too often.

Im glad that this whole and hd tricking videos have come out becoz it show tricking in a better setting with nice surroundings and smooth ambiant, classic, orchestrial and chilled out music. (which in my opinion suites the sport as a beautiful expression of movement) Iam yet to see a bad example of this so far. using hd tricking vids and the music which accompanies it.

Youtube videos/users that appeal to my taste are:-

Kjers videos bcoz of his ever evolving style and his undoutably good taste in music that he uses in his videos.

Aswell as Gabbe S. Who used the slow motion and nice atmospheric enviroments with complementary tricks.

A great example is the 'crazy asian - lets go' video is a brilliant example as it was made a while ago and is still watchable over and over again becoz of the simple brilliance of a superb tune and his amazing skills and good footage.

I cannot 4get about ffhaime007 - Jaime C./HDseasons video was sweet
brilliance of editing and a variaty of beautiful surroundings props to all whith there skills of tricking ability ,video editting and music selections.

theres many more but i cannot mention all of them sorry for any ive missed

All im trying to suggest is that people think b4 intending to make a new video on youtube e.g.
Think about using a unique or distinguishing track to make your video different from the rest create your own feal and style do not be like the rest and most less likeable videos.

Thank you 4 reading / listening
