Hey, Just another question with corks!~

Im sure Rudy or someone will be able to help me out with this.
I am working on getting my Corkscrew head height (Higher now)... I know the answer is to jump Straight UP instead of leaning back. But i just feel when i jump straight up my cork goes diagonal, However when i watch teddy he does straight up diagonally and then pumps out horizontally some how!~

I was thinking do i need to keep driving my leg up higher and stop myself twisting early?

In my old Cork Journey video the one i call perfect did go up and went horizontal and it felt fucking insane and technically correct. But i just don't know how i done it!

Thanks guys it will be a real miracle if i ever get my cork perfect hahah!

You can do inverted corks and still be very high. Teddy and Anis and Ott and many more have their hips go above their head when corking, and they do theirs very high.

Thing is the move is as much a flip as it is a twist, interestingly enough. If you can do a high gainer or slant gainer, which goes really high, flips (either vertically or at a slight angle), and land high, then you can cork high. The only difference is the twist, or something to that effect.

Yeah i have accidentally done some invert corks before and they land me very upright~ Sadly i lost my old high gainer, But you have been my slant and i think they are high enough as i fall outta them. I always Automatically(bad habit) Wrap waaay to early. I cant control it i tried to control it in frustration the other day and put my hands on my hips and still managed to cork and land with just my body twisting  I dunno i think i will concentrate on the leg swinging high and more flip!

Thanks though

Thanks man that was going to be my second option next to advice haha:wink:

Set high

What does this mean? hahah! you saying Leg / Arms / Chest / Hips Up high?

Its weird i keep getting advice and applying new things and some days they work well other days i just fail, its like the new techniques i apply wear off after time while applying new ones!

Corks are a bitch, I used to have them decent, then at one point I couldn't land one, now I'm landing them shitty. Consistency with corks is a challenge for me, I'm having the same problem.

just focus on geting everything as high as possible really pull everything up, because if you get your chest high then your body will raise to that level, inless of course it's diagnal like you said...

Yeah, Hey thanks everyone's input!

I had a better trick today, And randomly done more head height corks!

I think i will just have to keep working on slant gainer cork mishaps that lead to nice high horizontal corks until the day i do them on demand.

A lot of it is leaving your shoulders where they are and bringing your hips up to them. Take off for your gainer take off standing straight up. Get your shoulders a few inches higher than standing. Think about leaving them where they are and bringing your hips above your head without dropping your shoulders. To do this, your gonna have to flip alot harder but it will pay off, garanteed. Your cork is only as high as your hips. So leave your head where it is and put your hips above your head and your gonna have a killer cork. Practice, try alot of things and see what works for you. This is what works for me. Maybe its something that will help.

ok your cork...you really need to get your arms up above your head...to the point were you feel a stretch in your side and your elbows are above your head.

i'm going to make a tutorial soon and i'll upload it for you carney...i hope you can fix your corks how you want

also kick that leg as hard as you can

Thanks man yeah last time i tried to actually copy teddy i lost my corks trying his lead in haha! But some how you have come to be able to almost replica his and for that i congratulate you cause that's exactly how i would like my corks! But again i will watch it more and just try and beat it in my mind!

Also man did you change your Lead in for your new cork? or was it all in the trick itself?

Thanks heappps man! Yeah every time i try and control my leg to go UP and arms over my head i get this:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2Fl-byQnIuI 0:04

But im going to just work on getting them over my head more either way and get that leg aiming towards my left shoulder.

Holy Shit, Im soo sorry about all this guys! One min my cork gets better then i want the next best thing / height= then my corks are dog shit again haha!

Really appreciate the advice, and Special thanks Rudy for the cork tutorial your making i have faith it will be so thorough i will only have to refer back to that instead of TT for advice:smile:

Thanks heaps again, another analogy that makes sense, ill have to work on getting my gainer and slant high with my head/shoulders being around the same spot!

100%. If it's just a plain old gainer or double cork shouldn't make any difference, you gotta approach it the same way.

yes this is what made my corks recently. i always used to put my arms up but if you watch teddy's you can see his right arm is like omgs over and stretchy. when you do this for this first time it flips you without thinking about flipping too much and makes you spin a zillion times faster.

I went out yesterday and got my corks alot more controlled but still with some knots i need to get out of them to make consistent!

I got a new lead in that im practicing and that helps me get a little more control and comfort over the situation leading into the trick.

I also tried the arms over the head thing, Which to my surprise worked in a way of when i was going to land i was heaps lent over and had to force my feet to find the ground perhaps i pulled them over too much. But it did get me increased horizontal-ness. Also when i pull my arms over my head i find it hard to then wrap them to my chest they just stay over or so it feels.

I still cant on demand get huge height i try and jump UP and i just go diagonal. Maybe i need to work more on jumping up pulling arms above my head then slanting but every time i do a slant and a good cork comes out i feel like it was just a mistake i had no control over.

Simple little things that will improve any cork, work on your j-step, also throw your leg harder, with a good j-step and strong swing your cork will deff go up mang!
