View Full Version : Bleeding through Skin Pores
Aiden Bloodaxe
Dec-31-08, 06:06 AM
After lifting I occasionally bleed through the pores of my skin, mainly through areas such as: Forearms, thighs, glutes & calves. Anybody have any ideas as to why I'm bleeding & possibly how to prevent it. I'm not too concerned, just curious. The only thing I can think of is possibly a surplus of vitamin E...?

I've just read this up Aiden and surprisingly there seem to be many people who've had similar things and have no idea what it could be. I'll keep looking as I'm quite curious to this and am also concerned haha, go get yourself down to a doctor right away man, this doesn't sound like something that should be happening.
Randomlyyy guessing it could be a mixture of thin blood combined with high pressure, for instance if you have thinner than normal blood and are doing a heavy set of squats or whatever, more blood I imagine would be pumped to your legs and the high pressure could possibly cause the blood to seep out if it's thin enough to or if your skin is porous enough for it?
Anyway yes, doctor.

i once got this really bad from vomiting after alcohol consumption. my eyeballs had red dots on them for like 2 weeks.
that was pretty retarded. =)
hmm this could be a form issue? weird. hope you find a solution!

Skippy: What you've said seems reasonable & could be also linked with why It could be too much vitamin E because vitamin E effects the permeability of capillaries & I do use vitamin supplements as well as using a lot of natural sources for vitamins.

I doubtttt it's from form Shen, this really doesn't sound like a common thing haha, I mean before Aiden posted this up I'd never heard of anyone having these problems, and you being the second apart from the people I've searched on google =p I mean I hang out on bb.com alot and everyone goes crazy putting in like a million threads if they have problems and I've never heard of this.
I could be totally wrong and it happens alot and I'm just not seeing it, but this really doesn't sound like it should ever happen haha.

Ahhh aiden that vitamin thing sounds excellent. Perhaps you should decrease your vitamin E intake for the next week or two and see if it goes away, otherwise see a freakin doctor =p

my only advice is to be careful with fat soluble vitamins A,D,E, and K because they can cause toxicity. So if you're taking mega doses of those, you should probably not :P

Never heard of it, out of my realm.
I'd seek a sports doctor as well as someone who has been in the barbell business for a long time that would possibly come across something like this.

I did this at new years a couple of years ago. through my face.
In short it's the capillaries bursting because of too much pressure...

Maybe cappilaries are bursting from the pressure or something? Perhaps due to regular bathing and the chafing from lifting, you don't have as many layers of skin on the surface, whereas a lot of people have a dead layer or two that might prevent such leakage.

Is y'all skin dry or itchy?
Wow ive never heard of such a thing, I would get it checked out ASAP and stop watevers causing before it does become worse. Until then relax and get it checked out before anything.
Good luck man.

It sounds like you deserve worse than bleeding out your pores.
Dude it's really not too much to be worried about. I got the same thing when I was in karate. Whenever we would ground fight, I would look later that night, and wherever someone had a tight grip on me, those same marks showed up. It's merely small blood vessels bursting from too much pressure.
I would recommend take some fish and flax oil and drinking enough water to help improve and sustain the elasticity of said vessels.
Hows ur Physique coming there kay? lol
Ill show pics real soon

Never itchy, occasionally dry. I get stretch marks really easily so my skin must be nice & tight.

How long did it take you to get from 57kg to 83 man?
Aiden Bloodaxe
Jan-22-09, 07:12 AM
7-9months. Is my weight even mentioned in this thread? haha
Alpha Moth
Jan-22-09, 09:33 AM
No, this is an off topic question. f you put on over 50 pounds over 8 months, and you can only physically put on about 0.5-0.75 lbs muscle per week. that's like 5 lbs per 2 months MAX, so 8 months that's around 20 pounds max, did you gain a heck a lot of fat or you don't care about that? I'm just worried if I go for 8 months off bulking i'll put on too much fat.
Aiden Bloodaxe
Jan-22-09, 09:39 AM
There's no set amount of muscle an individual can put on over a certain amount of time & also, there's more weight than just muscle, such as bone density, connective tissue & other types of lean mass. I never put on much fat until these past few months.
Alpha Moth
Jan-22-09, 09:55 AM
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/maki2.htm well that thing is telling me different..no more than 1 pound of muscle per week. i don't know if it's true or not though.
Aiden Bloodaxe
Jan-22-09, 10:07 AM
Haha, BB.com. It's still only talking about muscle.

Obviously some fat gain can be seen, but I doubt there's 30 or so lbs worth
Alpha Moth
Jan-22-09, 11:06 AM
Yea it's a good gain. I'm just not sure of what I need to do.. I want to look like this http://mlai.org/gallery/pictures/psmirrorsedge212.gif and i currently look like this. http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii210/Keyboard_Warrior/alpho-moth-comp.jpg
i dont know if i should keep bulking, or just bulk up for a little more till i get 80kg or so and lose the bf%. i'm totally new to weight lifting ..:(
Aiden Bloodaxe
Jan-22-09, 11:13 AM
Well you clearly don't have as much mass as your friend yet, so you blatantly need to "bulk" / put on weight. It's as simple as that. I understand you're drinking a gallon of milk of milk a day & you're on SS, am I correct? Keep doing that, it's only been two months & it shouldn't take much longer.
Also, it seems unusual to have a friends physique as inspiration. You should pick somebody more admirable.

Jan-22-09, 11:24 AM
I'm currently doing 5 X 5 stronglifts. but I think i'll switch to SS. Squat,bench Press,Deadlift
,Power Clean 3 X 5?
Aiden Bloodaxe
Jan-22-09, 11:25 AM
& press
Alpha Moth
Jan-22-09, 11:28 AM
what is a "press"? I know overhead press, etc, just not "press"
is it a good move to switch to SS?
Aiden Bloodaxe
Jan-22-09, 11:29 AM
A press is a overhead press. :good:

Arterial damage, yo
The real question is, what supplements do you take, if any, Aiden?
Aiden Bloodaxe
Jan-22-09, 03:27 PM
Creatine on days prior to training
ZMA before bed
& just over my RDA for all vitamins & minerals & EFAs.
The rest I eat is natural shiznit

Jan-22-09, 03:31 PM
Hmm nothing out of the ordinary. Just know that most of the nutrients in vitamins are already obtained through your food....however I'm pretty sure you piss most of it out. Do you get in omega 3s for your blood flow? (I know it sounds stupid to ask this but just go with it haha)
And do you get lightheaded when this happens? Any pain?
Fuck it I think I'm shooting in the dark here.

I'll never stop lifting, even if it kills me! It's not like I'm using high rep ranges anyway, this is ridiculous. :swashy:
