I haven't done any martial art other than judo when I was around 10 which doesn't teach much about kicking.
So can anyone make a video tutorial about basic kicks, i.e. roundhouse, side, front, and all the other variations I'm not aware of, chambering etc... Preferably someone who is good at kicking and can kick quite high, not tim man level, but a fair mastery, like crazy asian for example.
I am quite flexible, I just have no idea how to position my legs and body to kick right.
Pretty please with a cherry on top.

Yeah I wouldn't have made this thread if I had the money and time to go take martial arts lessons.
alright,
for your basic kickz kickz, have your foot pointing backwards or else your body wont get into teh right position to kick properly, this will make ur body turn sideways, this ur leg, thus your foot, thus kicking people in the face with your heel. stand against a wall with your foot taht way, keep your balance on the wall and do leg rises keeping your foot sideways.
yeah.
have fun with side rising kicks until someone makes a vid.

What type of style of kicks are you leaning towards? Tae kwon do? Karate? Thai boxing? Wushu?

Well they should all be the same in terms of biomechanical movement no? Then I don't know, kicking that helps tricks.

Not wushu kicks, they just seem like dance moves, kicks that are also useful for beating the shit out of people.

look on youtube for tutorials
you should try taking a martial arts class at a local community college, since you only have to pay for the units, which in my case is $20 a semester (+cost of belt testing, but thats optional)
the teachers are there because they like teaching, not because of money, like many "mcdojos" you will find

There are guides like this on wikipedia even I think. That said, if someone wants to get experience doing videos, this is a great way to start and get the community to know you, because lots of us like watching them. Who was that black 'lotus' guy who did vids like that once?

Ah then you'll want a mix of shotokan(for the pure technical aspects), muay thai(for beating the shit out of people), and kyokushin(for the speed and other good shit).
The only thing I could help with is the shotokan but I need to work on my flexibility to make the kicks look really good haha. There's a lot of muay thai and kyokushin instruction videos on youtube however.

I made this when I was bored a few weeks ago over Christmas vacation.
And despite what I said at the beginning of the video, I'm not very good at tricking

Edit: Oh and can anyone confirm that what I taught was actually a Narabong? Or is it just a roundhouse > skip hook?
Yes! I was about to link him some SykoDragon, he has very good kicking tutorials. :good:

For now since they're the only one, if better ones are found it's not like they'd lose value as showing how people sometimes do it differently.
