Who the fuck actually calls themselves a gripthusiast. Just work your grip and forearms and stop being a FAGGOT!

I thought people only did that when somebody spells "your" the wrong way e.g. "you're" when the correct spelling is "your".

I do forearm excercises in the way of curling barbells slightly behind my back. Other than that they're worked out a little from arm, shoulder and back workouts.

I use the incorrect spelling of you're intentionally ever since suchiben started pointing it out. Don't take my post too seriously, I do forearm/grip work 3-4 times a week for aesthetics and better grip while deadlifting and shrugging.

Take a look at Mobster's log on Animal Pak. He's got a few records in the grip championships in Britain. Half of his workout routine is dedicated to grip strength.

You can find his log here: http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?t=8729&highlight=mobster

Dude, stuff grip work...you are working your foreams constantly through all your pulling exercises as well as monsterous forearm exercises like hammer curls...forearm work is uneccesary unless you have a really really weak grip, or you are bodybuilding...

Bruce Lee used grippers all the time...lol.

I was on the verge of buying some CoC grippers because my grip was starting to fail me when deadlifting, seems it only took some high rep sets(of deadlifts) at the end of sessions to help my support strength catch back up.

go indoor climbing.

trust me, no matter how good you think your grip is, a half hour intense bouldering session will fucking KILL you.

Not true. Grip training is very useful for grappling and mma.

Well Like mobstrone I work my grip As I enjoy working my grip hard like any muslce.
I can close a CoC 2.5 or a HG 300 for 3 + reps
Ripped through a shit load of phonebooks
Bending Is my favorite I can bend a 7/16th 5 inch spanner (the shorter the harder it is btw)
plus lots of steal stock
Rolling through frying pans
Plus some 140 kg PB one arm deadlifts :P

I do lots of grip work. Im addicted
Plus i do lots of training strongman style :P

I don't train my forearms and wrists directly.... But strength in my forearms and wrists has increased over the last two years from heavy deadlifting. And, from gripping really heavy dumbbells every time I go to the gym.

That's cool, t383. I'd love to get some COC grips. In fact, If anyone had some old ones that they've stepped past, I'd be stoked to get a pair!

I'd be interested to see what your forearms look like with all that grip work.

I worked my grip for a while last year because I could tell that it was holding back my deadlifts. I did plate pinchers, dumbbell holds, and just held my final deadlift rep for about 10-15 seconds.

I want to get some grippers (coc), but I don't know which level to get, and I don't feel like wasting money on one that is too easy or too hard. Is there anyone here that knows anything about the difficulty levels of the coc grippers and could help me figure out which one I should start on?

x2, although if I'm going to keep deadlifting with a pronated grip I feel I may need to train my grip strength directly a little more. I really don't want to use a gawd damn mixed grip.

Why? That's the way every strong mother fucker deadlift, except for the extremely rare chance of seeing someone lifting with a hook grip.

Envy, my grip is terrible and the number 1 CoC grippers are kind of hard for me haha.

I have the sport model and it's not hard at all. The trainer is surprisingly harder than the sport and the 1 surprisingly harder than the trainer.

If you're worried about it being too easy then get the 1. They don't lie when they say, "Most people who lift weights can't close this gripper." You'll be able to close it but for higher reps it will take some time (in my opinion).

I think only people who closed the CoC 3/4 or can deadlift 3x their bodyweight should use the word 'gripthusiast'.

Anyway... I'm not, I have a gripper but it's one of thoe shitty ones with a plastic handle. I can do a 1-handed hang on a bar for a couple seconds, and several chinups, and can lift a 120lb dumbbell with my hand to move it around on the weight stack when people don't put it back properly, heh.
