So I got this comment, on my (ancient) GMS clip (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=balIsJUgXfc), from some random pk kid:

p0is0narr0w (2 hours ago)
that was an aerial...no thats not my opinion you can look it up

Ordinarily I wouldn't bother posting this kind of shit but the idiocy was just too much for me to handle alone. :dead:

not idiocy, but ignorancy. he just didnt know the difference. he is half true, it is an aerial.. variation. just explain to him.

It's not the ignorance that gets me, it's the arrogance - "no thats not my opinion you can look it up" !? I mean seriously, what the fuck kind of person says that when they obviously know very little on the subject.

It would be like me waltzing into CERN and saying, "no guyz, actually the universe is made of lollipops... dats not my opinion itz a fact look it up."

OH lawds, shall I interfere?

If you want to. I'm happy to allow him to continue in his ignorance, purely because I don't think he deserves correcting.

Edit: Haha, excellent comments guys. I especially like the contrast.

People do that all the time! Have you ever made a statement to someone stating that you were right, when later you discovered you were wrong?
It happens all the time, just look at people who argue against me! Haha jk, but really to him what he's saying is the truth, subjectively, so now he just needs to be informed of the objective facts, like David M said.

You could also see a ''gms'' as a transition I guess, and then you would've done cartwheel_gms_aerial.

Why do people feel the need of asking for TT backup over a small comment? If it's a completely ignorant comment maybe then yes but all you need is one reply explaining and you're done.

If this preemptive pseudo-apology was not enough, then fine - I'm sorry I posted inane rubbish on TT.

well a gms is a GMaerial, so it's not completely stupid
saying that a gms is an aerial is still wrong thoug hahhah

I can see how someone can say a gms is an aerial. After all, there's just a minor difference between the two. Although for someone who's much heavily involved, that would be major facepalm.

Yeah, conceptually it is a minor difference (use teh other foot lulz!) but difficulty-wise, and aesthetically, the difference is quite massive. :dead::punched::ouch:

well you only find that out when you faceplant one :D

Dragonic MiKe
Jan-28-09, 01:44 PM
The only one I've ever faceplanted was a "wall-gms" attempt off a grassy bank at southkicks - and it was more of a foreheadplant. :/

tuareg
Jan-28-09, 01:48 PM
well, i was pretty far from faceplanting it actually haha.

i fucked my wrist, though.
