Hey, all...long-time reader, first-time poster. The long and short of my question is this: I'm a 28 year old dude from Guam that's looking to get into tricking. I've been practicing parkour for a year or so, and I was thinking about taking up tricking to branch out into free running/acrobatics. My big question is: Am I too a little too far over the hill to be adding tricking to my repertoire? I mean, I'm well aware you're only as old as you feel, but I worry there may be a certain age window for people to get into tricking. Any advice or thoughts?

Doeni is in his early 30's and in his tricking prime as one of the best trickers out there.

Age shouldn't be holding you back from getting into tricking at all. Granted, you might not become one of the best, but you will definitely improve beyond your expectations if you take it seriously.

So just go to the main site, do some reading and get started! Good luck

Doeni is a great example. Logan is in his late 20s as well, and he can do standing double anything, haha.

A lot of Loopkicks are around 26ish or so as well, I believe?

the biggest handicap that comes with your age, is how quickly you heal. since you're not exactly in your prime, you won't recover from injuries as fast as you used to. however, with the help of a good diet, training regime, and perhaps some supplements, you can bypass all of the "in you prime nonsense".

man... go for it! its not too late, dont worry! you are doing parkour.. so your body is used to that kind of sport. Its like changing from soccer to basketball, hahaha. I am 31 now and started training hard at 27. And recovering from injuries is no problem at all, no matter if your 20 or 30!!

Nah man you are not too old!

I would reccomend taking some suppliments for your joints too. Like Glucosamine sulphate and krill oil. The better condition you can keep your joints in the faster you will progress int ricking and the quicker you will heal form sessions!

Start stretching and conditioning too if you want to get the most out of it!

Hahaha, thanks for the awesome feedback, guys. I've been doing Juji's dynamic stretches for a few months now as part of my parkour warm-up, so I was thinking, "Why not just start tricking?" BTW, Doeni, I saw some of your samplers, you're a freakin' madman. Even your crashes look spectacular, it's absurd...haha. If I'm even halfway to that level by the time I'm 31, I'll be a happy man.

Welp...guess it's time for me to get back to my stretching and spin kick practice. Thanks again for the helpful advice, everybody!
