What exactly is a moon kick?
What should you know to be able to moon kick?

Hello I'm not new to tricking but I decided to sign up to this propogating community. I've been tricking for 3 weeks and I've had a 2 week break after a back strain from front flip attempts.
So far I can Butterfly Twist, Aerial (Nearly there, I'm just landing with my leading leg's knee/shin on the ground), Tornado Kick, 540 Kick, Pop 360 and Pop 360 Gyro's.

Anyway, is a moon kick a gainer via J-step or is it a non-inverted sideward kick?
I've seen quite a few videos and some are inverted while others are just flatspin. I would really like to learn the moon kick but I don't know any backflip variations or even the backflip. Are there any mandatory requirements for the moon kick?

So overall I really want to know if it is inverted.

A moon kick is a slant gainer with a hook kick coming out as one lands. That's all really.

On the question about axis, a moonkick is usually at least horizontal but never vertical hence the slant since it is a slant gainer variation.

Ok thanks for the help
To Braka: 3 weeks isn't brand new but I suppose it's still new

Should I be able to gainer flash to do this trick because when I tried it I ended up doing some weird looking jump kick.
