keep going at it, with the spotter tell him to spot u less and less as u get along. Keep jumping up HIGH and tucking HARD, its all u need to remember. Eventually u'll get over the fear and spot the ground so it wont scare the shit outta u anymore

Keep doing it with spotters and troughout the time they will help you less and less unless you're doing it yourself. Also record it and try to improve your backflip as well, a lot of newbies don't jump at all and don't tuck at all.

My story was that one day I was like: Backflip? I think they just jump and tuck, I'll give it a shot, wait. I did one and landed in a crouched position with: Well, it was low but I'll adjust it.
Then I searched for tutorials and everything and somehow the fear came to my head. That was bad because I couldn't be able to backflip anymore :D
So you just have to know what to do and keep the other rubbish outside of your head!

Look in front of you
Swing arms up and jump (as you do vertical jump)
tuck (think of pulling knees over your head)
land and celebrate.

I know one method to KILL THAT YEEEAH fear.. Just ask yourself:1. Do I want to be a good tricker? NO? OMG Ok go home you noobie!!! 2.Do I want to be a good tricker? YES? OMG GO BIG man just do the same thing as you did when the spotter helped you. Its so easy trick. Hope you'll do it :) gl, hf

Just remember backflips are extremely easy, the only thing that holds you back is the fear, I know what ita like for some reason im terrified of corks...

corks require more technique than backflips, maybe thinking a lil more is making u scared ^^

swell the reason im scared is because i went into a gainer too much before i twisted and landed on my head...

ahh ive done that tons, i fixed it slightly by twisting a lil later so i get more height..tho my corks are inconsistent atm

is there a trampoline you can go to for just a day? if you're REALLY scared, getting spotted on a trampoline can help heaps, it gets you used to the motion, and then you can move to grass

that video, most of the attempts were people getting too scared and bottling it

Ok try this, continuously keep at it for the weekdays, and on weekends dont even trick.
use your weekends as analysis days to see whats going on.
In weight training people have breaks to assess theirselves and to push forwards, and i like to apply this to tricking.
keep going for it, and convert that worry into excitement that your going to try the move

If you can, go to the beach. My friend couldn't back flip, because of fear for the longest time. So we went to the beach and he just did wall back flips until he was pumped up enough to just go for it.

If you can get enough adrenaline flowing it helps. I usually fall on propose a few times to get over the fear of getting hurt. If you know any break fall techniques those help you get pumped up. Some people I know just practice off of things so they don't have to worry about jumping. But I think that's a little dangerous.

Dig a hole the ground 2m x 2m and 2m deep. Buy loads of sponges. Fill hole with sponges. Go mental.

I don't know if this is the right topic but whatever, my problem in backflip isn't the fear:

After I've dipped down and starting to come up from the dip I go too much back and I lose much air. I have tried just to jump up but I simply can't do that for some reason, I have also tried to keep my eyes in one spot during the jumping but it doesn't work because my head is still but my body still goes back.
Does anyone knows how I can fix that? Thx in adv.

your dipping to low, just bend your knees like its a normal jump but add your arms for momentum, when you have gone up bring up your knees to start the tuck and add to your rotation

ey doode, i know that fear of yours...i'm pretty much of a noob too, but it's not even that hard to get over the fear...
there are many ways to handle it..you can get a spotter, which works pretty good by the way, but it kinda keeps you from giving all you've got...it's good because your spotter can help you spin, and as you get used to the move he (or she ;)) can do less and less to help you...you'll just get used to this move and flip backwards in no matter of time...
it might also help to try it from a bench or something, but don't do it too often, because you might get used to jumping backwards, not upwards, which is not very helpfull, ya know ;) it's really just about the going backwards...
i'm a noob too, but i was just tricking a couple of hours ago and i did some pretty good backflip-attempts...i'm not landing them on my feet yet, but it works fine for me (for now) to just land on my knees, you know...
just try it and you'll see frate ;)
yeah, i can speak romanian too :P haha
