Most music I listen to doesn't get me pumped to trick.
But if I were to pick a specific type of music that makes me think "tricks", it would have to be downtempo stuff.
Bonobo, nujabes, nomak and so on...=D
I love that type of music, although it is quite different than what I normally enjoy haha.

We have a CD at gym that one of the Jiayo members made. I hardly know any of the songs on it, but they're all great to trick to. Surprisingly Duality - Slipknot is a good song to get pumped up to.

Yeah!
The only hiphop / rap I listen to is the stuff that reminds me of tricking [stuff from samplers or would be good in a sampler] haha.

Although I primarily listen to rock, I find that most of the time it doesn't really fit with tricking samplers. Not sure why.

my favoured music depends on the feel of the session.

If its a hardcore balls-out session, I quite like a bit of metal with a bit of screamo and heavy stuff. If its more of a relaxed session trying new stuff, hip-hop is always good.

Ive found recently that trying to use music to try and hype yourself up when you're not in the mood doesn't always work.

Usually songs that I hear in samplers and metal usually works a treat. As TKD_Andy said Hip-Hop for a relaxed session is great. At the moment its:

Your Gonna Go Far, Kid - The Offspring
Chase & Status - Running
Chase & Status - Eastern Jam
Chase & Status - Take Me Away
This Calling - All That Remains
Ghost Prototype 2 - Scar Symmetry

Feel free to ignore the start of Running, haha.
