View Full Version : Learning arabians before back flip?

Okay I recently learnt the front flip (which turned out to be much easier than the webster) and they are consistent but sometimes I land with too much forward momentum (overshoot) and I'm thinking if I should try the arabian.

I don't know how to do standing front flips but I was thinking of doing the arbian off a roundoff.

Any suggestions that say I shouldn't try this before the backflip or tips for the arabian?

overshoot is some beginners termin :D theres no such thing, you just have to open earlier. And there is no rules about when should you learn backflip, just do it.

standing arabians are much easier than standing fronts, it doesnt matter which one you learn first, they are two different moves. If you try a round off arabian you might end up doing a back 180, like i did when i tried it from round off so i just do them standing...

I learned arabians way before backs. I learned almost all of my non-backwards tricks before I learned backs actually. back when I was a pussy

Learning arabian isn't going to make it any easier when you want do want to learn to backflip.
So just learn the backflip.
It opens up soooo many tricks once you learn it.

Tips for arabians? Set [arms go UP] and turn...spot the wall behind you and then tuck hard. Basically.
Make sure you have a nice roundoff. Try not to do those roundoff / cartwheel hybrid things where you do a roundoff and land sideways. Cheats the arabian and doesn't look as clean.
