Recently I've started drilling all the basic kicks to get them really smooth.
So just a quick question:
When I do hook kicks, after a while my base knee starts to kinda hurt. I think I'm twisting it or something. How do I fix this so the hook kick is real smooth like.

when you hook, make sure you're rotating on the ball of your foot

i dont see why your knee should be hurting. post a vid always help break down technique.

I've got the technique down well now. Through trial and error and the study of others hooks I have now got it ;)

not just that but you need to make sure the toes of your non kicking foot are pointing away from your target.

rly. after the kick you want to switch over from the ball of the foot to the heel (as Ben says). If you don't you may kill the rotation and twist your knee (?) I don't know, just a theory. gl
