What kinda camera am I looking for?

Okay I've already made a past thread about this and what kinda camera I'm trying to get. However, with limited knowledge on this subject, I need help from you guys! I'm simply trying to get a camera that captures really good footage because I am trying to get a sampler made before the end of this summer. If anyone could point me in the right direction? I would get a HD camera but I heard you need a good a bad ass computer to edit that footage and whatnot. Anyways, please give some good suggestions.

i have a camera similar to that one and the format would be MPEG-2 so i wouldnt recommend it seeing as most programs dont accept that format
go for a canon camera, always reliable

Ah.. They don't have any hardrive canon camera's at bestbuy. :( Any other recommendations as far as sites or somewhere else I can buy it from.
