fgdsgfds, keeping in mind my own experience I think the best advice for you here is to visit a surgeon :)
Undoubtedly this is the most reliable way to save your knees and avoid serious problems (if they occur).

If it were an ACL tear, you would FEEL it. An ACL tear isn't something that feels sore or abit hurtful sometimes.

See a goddamn physiotherapist or orthopaedic instead of crying about it. You're either going to walk around complaining about your knee for ages, doing nothing about it in the process. Or you could visit a professional and let them check on it.

It's not arthritis for christs sake.

I've had knee problems my life but they have never been swollen and the fact that they are indicates that something is wrong enough to get it looked at.

sounds a bit like osgood slaughters disease

I had it. If it is this the pain will stop and the bump will go away (not completely) after you stop growing.

osgood usually is associated with pain below the knee cap rather than on the side of the knee but i'm not sure if the OP mean right side of the knee or right side of the patellaaaaa but it matters not

my idea was more of just a toss of the hat

The problem when one starts giving out ideas and tips on injuries like "It could be this or that" is that people (especially teenagers) will interpret it like "Oh, then that must mean I have this, 3 out of 15 symptoms match! Yeah you're probably right, what can I do to rehabilitate it?"

Then it's their stupid fault really, I don't see why our educated guesses can be harmful. If the OP is an idiot enough to take the word as god then it's his fault ho ho ho.
