I was just thinking...I always have my water bottle next to my bed and I was wondering if I would just be able to dump like 15g of creatine into it and drink it throughout the day. Would the creatine lose it's effects or anything if I did this?

No but I imagine it wouldn't dissolve very well and eventually settle to the bottom. You've just have to mix it up again.

15g a day, everyday?
If you're going to drink creatine there are two ways:
Mix it in a pretty hefty amount of water and guzzle it down immediately.
Pop the powder into your mouth and rinse it down with water. I prefer this method.
It could transform into creatinine (you don't want this) after a couple of hours in water. It could also do nothing. Besides, why prolong the suffering? It's like drinking water with a dash of sand in it. Drink your creatine when you mix it. Also, afaik there are no documented reports of increased performance above the dosage of 5g a day.

Ah, so 5g a day is all you need. I thought it was just 5g per dose, I thought you could have up to 15g a day. But alright, now that it's only 5g a day that I need, I have no problem guzzling that down in a hurry once a day.

I also heard that it will break apart in a few hours one mixed with water.

.
i also prefer this method, as the creatine i have tasted like powdered fecal matter mixed with rusty girders.
I have an excellent tasting brand of creatine, blue raspberry flavored, mixes quite well with water. I did not buy it myself so don't harp on me about quality of GNC or that, my brother bought it, I just use it cause it's free

I just put mine into my post workout shake and chug it down after training, I can't say I've ever tasted it over the sugars.
I could never taste anything from plain monohydrate. And yeah, you can't leave it water all day, and there's no point anyway.

Same here. You thankfully don't have to mess with the sandy texture if you just drop it in your mouth and rinse it down.

Creatine takes a few hours before it starts to turn into creatinine, plus the fact it goes down into your stomach with all the water no matter how you drink it so it clearly doesn't happen in seconds. So as long as you're not preparing a days worth of water/creatine in the morning it really isn't going to matter how you ingest it.

a friend of mine puts the powder in his mouth, swallows it, and then drinks water afterwards. is this even healthy?
since the powder is not being "mixed" with water directly, couldn't it have negative effects on the body?
