View Full Version : People with a keen interest in nutrition
This is quite an interesting show. Basically it is about how modern medicine causes so many deaths/illnesses/fuck ups and how it can all be fixed with food.
"First, do no harm.
Let thy food be thy medicine"

urgh, I fucking hated that. There were a few valid points, near the start, but then as soon as I saw that twat with the "Raw" t-shirt, I knew where it was headed.
I can't even be bothered to say any more. It just pisses me off. Stupid fucks

What a crock of absolute shit. They do have a couple of good points but "this is why people get tired in the afternoon", "if you cook food, the body doesn't recognise it and stimulates white blood cells", "super foods" , and the whole living enzyme thing is quite ridiculous. Fat asses nowadays need to expend less energy when eating by liquefiying foods, that makes alot of sense. The start of it was good with the agricultural practices etc, but once they got into the raw vegetarian food thing, it went downhill. Where was the meat? Unless we don't need meat because we have liquefied spirulina! They forgot to add that cooking foods can make some nutrients more absorbable, but thats probably why they said 50/50 which makes sense. Throw in some raw meat, throw out most of their special claims and it sounds like they've got it about right.

Taking care of food is good, but Hippocrates used herbs and shit too, so people need to STFU about bashing drugs. Drugs need to be tested well and freed of excessive corporate influence that interferes with safety, but I'm tired of hailing back to the good ol' days and shit in regards to thinking food will solve everything.
News flash: it doesn't. Nature fucks up, and there's only so much it can do. This doesn't mean drugs can solve every problem (inevitably, you need to actually mechanically interfere and fix cells) but they can do many things nutrition alone can't, especially in emergencies.

Not to nitpick, but the video should have put "48 honorary PhDs," there's definately a difference. That's not to say that he's not a smart man, or take anything away from him, but he didn't go to college for 48 seperate PhDs, that's all.

I've watched up to part 6, and I've come to the conclusion, that the old lady in the video, is extremely fucking creepy.
I only watched the first 2 parts at work, looked rather interesting. Haha I take it by the oh so positive responses here we all valued it's content?

I agree with them, that corn, wheat, and soy are fairly shitty, and that processed foods suck. I also agree that diet contributes to health. That's really all they said throughout the whole thing.
I wouldn't go all raw food diet extremist like they do though.

thanks for this, birch. interesting stuff.
Information content is quite good. It falls in alignment with a lot of other somewhat contraversal nutrition information, information that's not accepted by the general public like meat intake.

Then again, you could be a badass like Aubrey de Grey who gets an honourary one from fucking CAMBRIDGE which is owning the world.
