I had mono when I was 15, and had an enlarged spleen due to it. In my brilliance, I decided to go to a karate tournament that had full contact continuous sparring, and compete in it. Luckily, I didn't end up rupturing my spleen, but my doctor called me a retard after I told him I went. It was horrible though, and I felt like death the whole time.
