i wanted the iron gym but was retarded and didn't look at the box just assumed it was what i wanted and got the "perfect pull up" that sucks. which do you guys think is/would be better. i say the iron gym cause its not attatched to the wall its portable and has a few different things you can do on it just from the design. not to mention its a good 20 bucks cheaper also

if perfect pullup was designed by a navy seal, then it's complete rubbish

get an iron gym. you can take it with you anywhere and is well worth the $30

Iron gym is cheaper, simpler, more portable, etc. Start with that. Perfect pullup does look like it has some advantages but no clue how hard it is to set up or store that monster.

From what I understand, the perfect pullup handles themselves are plastic, never heard anything bad about them but I wouldn't place much trust in em'. So ya, Iron Gym ftw.

The Iron Gym is awesome. Definitely a great investment. Wish I could do some sort of (effective) dippish exercise with it though, but oh well.

how u trust this thing, you all must have some strong perfect doors in your house.

Man, a doorway is nothing more than two wall studs exposed, if your worried about that shit you shouldn't trust your whole house from not toppling over period.

Was about to say, those dips with Iron Gym are a joke. Dips are awesome for developing the pecks.

You can use the trick that Arnold used in his early days. He used two chairs put their back facing towards each other and used the tops of the chairs to perform dips. Looks a bit dangerous to me, but it worked for Schwartzeneger.

You could use the corner of a kitchen bench like in this video:

Or get two trustworthy and patient people to sit on the chairs.

Iron Gym looks awesome, i was going to get one years ago but wasnt aloud..lollll

I realllly like the rotating handles on the perfect pull-up though, but for that price its not worth it and you can just make your own rotating handles using your siblings underwear!

I've had the Iron Gym for a while now and I'm super happy with it. I live in dorms, so I'm not allowed to be drilling holes into walls and such and the Iron Gym definitely helps with that since you just put it on the door frame.

It's just wide enough to do wide pull ups, so I love that. I also love the neutral position. I recently started using it for abs (I didn't pay for the ab straps). It's fucking badass.

I have something like an iron gym but it is much bigger and complicated.

After I bought it I realized my doorway was too narrow so I am trying to get my brother to let me put it in his.

That's so unnecessarily large and stupid haha, but personally I don't think anything other than shoulder width grip is any use really.

I was attracted due to more places to grip. Twice as many if you think about it.

Twice as many still meaning twice as many useless grips. Wide grips I don't think really do anything more effectively than just ruining your shoulders.

I'm not bashing you buying something to improve your physique or strength, that's cool that you're interested. Just saying "omfg so much useless shit".

I guess variation is a nice thing to have though given how boring pull ups are to do.

I ordered mine like two days ago and have it already.
Sweet shit.

Although, it kinda scares me when I do chin ups that the doorframe will break.
It just seems like it will.

I don`t see why a wide grip would necessarily ruin your shoulders. I`d agree close grips are superior, but when it comes to chinning in your doorway, you want to get the best workout with the least amount of weight, because you can`t stress the frame too much. Wider grips are one way to increase the difficulty like that.

Another thing is, there are the ones where you move from side to side, trying to touch your chin to each of your hands. This moves the weight from one arm to the other, it`s one way to prepare for one-arm chinups.

As of now I think I can only move about an inch in either direction.
