I've been taking One a Day active multivitamins for a year. Been taking random vitamins before that. Everything was all good. Then I got Kirkland Daily Multi, Central-Vite, and Centrum multivitamins. All of them nearly killed me. It makes me feel like shit. My stomach goes crazy. I get chills. I get a fever and feel like I'm dying. One time water started uncontrollably pouring out of my mouth until I puked all over the place.
Wtf? I'm done taking sugar pills.
get your vitamins and minerals from food...
I seriously hate any kinds of pills and try to avoid them...everything is good thus far.

That can be a little naive sometimes, look at this thread : http://www.trickstutorials.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59210
The part of the video talking about agricultural practices specifically.
The ingredients in some multivitamins are a bit questionable, have a search for some of the ingredients in them, chances are, at least one will be a common allergen or many find they are sensitive to. Or that product may get recalled in a few weeks because of dangerous ingredients.

Stop taking piece of shit multivitamins.
Try the Beverly International Super Pak, or Animal Pak. Hell, even the GNC Men's Sport multi is a far better option than any of the ones you've mentioned. Don't ever buy the multis that your grandma would buy.
There's nothing wrong with pills either. Just stop buying shit and expeting something great.

Just because it may not be readily noticeable, doesn't mean that it will not make a difference. A good multivitamin does make a difference. I think it'd be incredibly difficult to come close to what I get, in vitamins and minerals, in a day, just from a "balanced diet". I doubt few members actually do come close, from just their diet alone.
A good multivitamin does not exceed RDI.

I'd say a good multivitamin does exceed RDI because RDI's are based on your average lazy fuck, so those of us who are highly active need considerably more. Bill Starr's shovel principle is a good way to go.

I'm not trying to 'beat' anybody, just stating a factual opinion / fact.

its basicly been agreed on if your diet is decent then you dont need to take multivits

Yeah I agree they aren't necessary, but 'do not need' isn't always optimal or as efficient. While 'do not need' means being able to live without any particular deficiencies / problems, it is highly unlikely that one could consume the 'RDI' by eating just food alone, no matter how good the quality of the food is nowadays. The fact that vitamins & minerals are relatively cheap for the amount we need or should have means the benefits outweigh the cost anyway(most of the time).

They should really be up to chewable flintstones by then.
I really don't think vitamin pills do shit. And Animal Pack is overhyped, overpriced crap.
Well, don't do shit unless you're chronically deficient in something.

Yeah. Well, the difference was only just noticeable. Like a 5% increase in recovering ability & generally feeling slightly 'better' throughout the day; or so it seemed(feelings are subjective).

No, you still don't get it. Just because you start to workout does not mean your RDI is increased by a large margin. This rumor probably started to circulate due to the pro-bodybuilders having their tackle box full of vitamins.
A good multivitamin pill does not exceed RDI, because if you're eating a balanced diet with at least some veggies and fruit thrown in, you're already exceeding RDI of every micronutrient there is.

It was Bill Starr in SSSSTF(The strongest shall survive strength training for football) that influenced my thoughts on vitamins & such, that book is pretty outdated, I guess. He does give a load of references though, pages full in fact.

Or: when they do, they might not be the freshest, nor grown in the best soil, so could be deficient anyway.
I can't say by what margin the RDI is increased, probably depends how built someone is any how well they've trained. Especially in the case of people who may have been underconsuming nutrients in the past.
