(wanted to do this outside the DVD boycott thread cause its not the issue being adressed there)

we lost a cumulative 10K at 2008's camp.

i cant speak for tong len (the other distributor of the DVD), but chris has just more than broke even with the dvd sales.

i am infact doing negative numbers for the t-shirts, but will make a profit if i sell the remainder of my inventory. and i'd really hope to make a career out of martial arts, or maybe even tricking some day, rather than work at denny's (yes i work at denny's lol). i think thats fair.

we fucked up, im not sure if chris sees it the same way, i guess you'll find out tommorrow.i feel like although we're not the most organized or ambitious group, we are honest and we dont want to fuck anyone over.

:worry:

Pete, I'm so sorry to hear that. I knew LK came out in the hole after last year, but I never realized how terribly. I personally appreciate everything Loopkicks (You and Chris...and Psycho Mike) have done for me personally.

You guys really kinda got screwed over because now that you're the biggest team out there and the one that really represents our sport a lot of the time, there is a lot of pressure on you guys to be perfect. That especially sucks because tricking isn't a career right now, you guys still have lives, and jobs, and real world commitments.

But like I said, thanks for everything ^_^

It's posts like these where you show people that you care enough to try that strengthen the team name even in the face of falling behind on orders. It is my hope that one day everyone who seeks to do so can make a career out of doing the thing they love, as long as they pursue it with honesty and integrity. With not enough cash to spend on t shirts this very moment, I feel safe enough committing to ordering a T shirt from you that I hereby promise to do so in the coming weeks (I wear my Loopkicks shit all the time.. in fact tricking shirts are pretty much all I wear in public ) and I agree entirely with your last sentence.

this is why camps are fail
we need a new system for mass gatherings where we can get everyone in the same area for cheap....and just have people pay for their own food, own clothing, and gym sessions....they can pay for seminars if they choose

obviously what we're doing isn't working.
can anyone point out the most "successful gathering" that didn't LOSE money?

if the camp itself is 1k per kid and there was like atleast 50 campers(even this sounds kinda low) thats a good amount of money earned just for teaching 50 people. not including the gatherers

No offense to loopkicks, but you guys got paid a crap load of money to put on the camp. How you spend that money is up to you.

If you spent the money in a way that generated losses, than you need to go back and look at your finances and see where you screwed up.

The money was there, you just spent too much, aka bad budget or bad accountant.

renting a gym for a week isnt cheap.

getting hotel rooms for all the people that came isnt cheap.

many of the guests where given help to get to the camp.

one night when we went to eat the bill was well over 1,000. i can easily see how they lose money on this

yes you are correct too many expenses, im wont go into specifics but chris might. lets just say camp would have not been the same otherwise.

1k per person isn't ridiculous for what the camp offers. 9 high quality lessons, 4 equally useful lectures, at least an hour of open floor a day, Room and board for 6 days, and all the extra activities.

Renting out all that gym time, paying for the food and hotel, and paying the teachers is going to cost loopkicks a bunch, plus they have to pay for the transportation and all the extra activities...1k per person really isn't that much.

Loopkicks could cut out the non tricking related expenditures, which might save quite a bit on their expenditures, but then you would be paying 1k for less stuff.

I'm not saying that it was overpriced, but they had at least 50k to spend, and they spent at least 60k.

Bad budget.

EDIT:I'm sure that a lot of the reason that it went overbudget is that they just wanted the best of overything, and to give the best experience they just ended up spending too much. It's not like I'm blaming them, but if they do want to make profit, they need to rethink their finances.

Loopkick should really offer an option where people can come for just one day of the camp. It would enable a lot of cali trickers to get a little bit of the action when they would otherwise be locked out by the price tag. I'd certainly pay $50 to drive to San Jose and attend the camp for the day.

I have 4 gyms with drop-ins within a 15 minute drive from my middle of nowhere gym. That's 3 gymnastics gyms, and 1 cheer gym. I work at one of those gyms, so we have late night tricksters only sessions. All these gyms are within 5-10$ for 2 hours.

But if you decide these don't cut it for you, there's like something I'm going to say like 8 other gyms within an hour of driving with drop in, including a gym owned by a trickster's dad which means free wednesday sessions.

We can train any day of the week.

Just wondering if I would buy the DVD now it would get sent soon after the order?

hey everybody... it's Tong-Len (creator of the loopkicks dvd)

well, how can i say this without slapping chris in the face... dunno

it's just... i want you guys to understand that orders made on www.loopkicks-dvd.com (http://www.loopkicks-dvd.com) are being managed and shipped by me (from germany).

From the beginning i was very eager and responsible with the orders. it never took more than 1or2 weeks till the person who ordered got the dvd after the payment.
I'm sure a lot of you guys can asure this!

Chris Devera and myself, both selling the dvd at our own business and responsibility!

Till now, people who ordered from the U.S. on www.loopkicks-dvd.com were forwarded to chris deveras online-shop page. This is no longer the case because it really frustrates me, when people in the U.S. have to wait that long to get their owned dvd shipped out by chris...

i worked hard, really hard on this DVD. and i'm still fucking proud of it.
when i tell you that in 1.5 years I only sold 500 copies of the DVD and have more or less still made no profit (compared to the costs) you may think that i lie to you... but i don't ! (and if i would see it solely economically I even would have made a histerical disprofit concerning the amount of work)
... to be honest it cost me some effort to admit this!

you can't really make money with tricking... but i admit I never thought it would be so hard to sell the dvd. (since it's a really good and professional product)

chris is an awesome guy and i don't think he wanted to fuck people over... it sometimes just seamed to me that he has so much things to be taken care of, that he struggles to keep up sometimes...

so, to sum it up... www.loopkicks-dvd.com (http://www.loopkicks-dvd.com) (and the german version www.loopkicks.de (http://www.loopkicks.de)) has absolutely nothing to do with the bad customer treatment in some of the U.S. order cases...

thanks and much love,
silvio baumgarten (tong-len)

I hate it when people act like they are so busy working they cant even find the time to make a phone call or do a text message or clean up the dog shit on their own lawn, when in reality the amount of free-time every human has is unfathomable. I love loopkicks as much as the next guy but stop trying to make excuses, this particular incident is completely inexcusable thats all there is too it. It doesn't make you guys bad people but there's no way to make this situation look good. If I have a client at 9:30 and I went out drinking the night before and I was just so tired I wanted more sleep I didn't get up for the 9:30.. Is that okay? No, fact of the matter is I could have gotten up and just done my job and been professional but I didn't. Thats completely unjustifiable. I have done that before this is a true incident, did i say to the client, "hey listen i was so busy sleeping that morning i couldnt get up, sorry bro! haha! should be fine because i was tired and wanted to sleep right?" no thats retarded and my boss say "hey Jack was asleep but its okay because he was busy being tired, he couldn't make it to the 9:30" NO.
