I accidentally went ATG on a 210 FS haha. I struggled for like 15 secs but i managed to complete the lift, it felt awesome.
So, what's the worst that happened to you?

Got stuck while doing a squat in a near seated position without anyone there ^^

worst so far is getting trapped under the bar while benching and dropping some weight on my toes.
Was hitting my peak in bench press basically, and I suddenly failed on the 4th set with no one around. Had no security locks on, so the weights fell off. Haha I pushed so hard I farted. Well got the weights loaded on again and I made my 5th set without problems.

Like 2 weeks ago I tried doing my 1st snatch, so I put some weight even if i didnt know the proper technique. I snatched and squated too much (even tho the weight was light) and i had no balance, i was falling backwards and i threw the barbel forwards and it hit my shins and i fell on my back and almost rolled over haha. The whole gym was watching.

I also lost a snatch behind me one time and put a hole in my back porch.

aha I was doing 135kg squats a while ago with 135kg 3x5 (ATG) and on the last rep of the last set, I cudn't stand up for agesss so I had to drop the bar off my back.
Thats the only thing I can think of, I've not been lifting very long haha. It wans't bad or anyhting either, was jsut annoying.

haha excellent stuff men.
My legs gave out during a 545 lbs. squat and I ended up twisting my knee badly, out of commission for 4 months.

Worse thing was when I first started my routine of like 3 x12 bench, and i was using 45lbs, or the bar. everyone watch as i struggled with my last rep .... :agony:
I also compressed a disk in my upper spine doing back squats with 405 or something like that. I actually don't do back squats anymore though, I stick to front squats, and I fucking love them!

I'd forgotten to leave enough time between eating and a deadlifting session, lots of stomach compression later on the 3rd or 4th rep into a heavy set I threw up a bit in my mouth, ditched the bar and swallowed it back down, I wasn't spewing on the platform haha.

I'd say when it was when I was unintentionally doing full 100kg good mornings on my squats, from bottom position all the way up, like 2 weeks ago.
I felt as if I would lose my back that day. Yet when I went for my second and third sets I did the same.
That scared the shit out of me, making me think I was going to disable myself soon by doing this.

Loosing small chunks of skin form my hands when I first started deadlifting. It has left several annoying scars/calluses, but has yet to be a problem.

The accidents I have had in the gym that I can think of all involve bench press. I missed the rack on one side when putting it back after a set and another time forgot to count the bar and was lifting 20kg more than I could, which I realised as the bar slowly sank down on me.

One time I feel backwards while ATG front squatting at my house alone. My barbell with the weights was just big enough to have me pinned on the ground over my neck. It didn't hurt me or crush my neck, but there wasn't enough room to get my head out. In the position I was in I wasn't able to lift it up at all. So I spent a good 20 minutes getting one of the collars off(it was very difficult in that position) then I got that side of the weights off and got up and I was saved, I loled about it later.

That first post doesn't seem so bad at all.
Was trying to squat clean 185 when i hadn't practiced catching that low in a long time. Somehow got distracted, half-assed the lift but didn't miss it. In letting it pull me down, I began the first of a series of low back fuckups that today leave me a frustrated weakling.
Also I one time push pressed about 200 lb right into my chin. Surprisingly, I was alright.

Warmed up by doing barbell snatches, pulled that fucker right in my chin biting my tongue off a bit, only to in shock let go of the barbell so it falls down again and smacks me right on the head and then crashes into someones protein shake.
Shortest workout ever.

Errr all my bad times have just been during benching and I'm sure someones done this sooner or later, anyone who doesn't have a spotter will have at some point haha. Was trying to do a 1rm when I started, and at the time I was only benching like 120lbsx5, and I tried to do 160 and the barbell just came straight down to my chest as soon as I got it off the rack and I couldn't push it back up for shiz.
I rolled it onto my stomach, tensed my abs and had to sit up and stand straight up haha, kinda deadlifting it off myself. I couldn't let it fall, the floorboards in my old home were weak in my bedroom, that shit just wouldda went straight through the floor.

Haha yeah i know, but i'm trying to work my FS back up, and i wasn't ready for 210lbs yet. The reason why i went ATG was because i thought it was only 187 (the 10 kg plates are almost the same as the 15's). So yeah i was dumb and put too much weight on, wich was a suprise when i could hardly get back up haha.
Also, i squatted 132 at home, and i almost fell forward. I had to support the weight with my neck haha. that was really stupid and painful.
Edit: Oh yeah, i completed a C&J, but while i was holding the weight up it almost fell behind me haha. It would have definitely went through the floor.

This is kinda in chronological order.
-Failing my 2nd rep of a 135 lbs benchpress and looking around asking for help with the weight on my chest. This was way back in 2006/2007 when I didn't know much except that low reps and high weight were what I wanted. It took me a while because I dislocated/separated my shoulder a bunch of times between then and now, but I can now do 3x5 @ 135 lbs with relatively little trouble. Pathetic, I know.
-Having the squat rack's weight-holding-thing break on one side as I tried to rack after a warm-up set of 95 lbs front squats. The barbell went crashing down on one side, then the weight fell off on that side, so I picked it up and dropped the weight on the other side before putting the barbell down. And then one of the employees heard the noise and decides to come and ask me what happened. After I explain the situation, he acts like the squat rack fucking collapsing on me was perfectly normal, but told me I should use the weight collars next time. THANKS ASSHOLE, I HOPE YOU GOT PAID FOR TELLING ME THAT.
-Dislocated shoulder from trying to unrack a seated barbell shoulder press @ 95 lbs. This was after 3 months of rehab with my shoulder more or less back to normal. I was so fucking pissed. Anyway, I popped it back in, went to the front desk to ask for an ice pack. That cunt tells me I need to go to Shopper's Drug Mart and buy one. Thankfully there are people who at least have some post-secondary education working at Shopper's and I got an ice pack from one of the pharmacists, but not without her being an idiot and telling me to take ADVIL instead of IBUPROFEN, because ADVIL is apparently anti-inflammatory, while IBUPROFEN is not. Great. This was last September. To this day I still can't shoulder press 3x5 @ 95 lbs.
-Just about a week ago (last Saturday), I went to the gym to do some light 2x8 work, cuz I felt like I was being really lazy, even though I was actually kinda sore from BJJ the day before. I put 95 lbs on the benchpress, and this guy comes up to me and says "Hey bro, you need a spot?" Chances are, he was just trying to be nice. But I don't think that makes him any less of a douche. If someone needs a spot, they'll fucking ask for one. Fuck's sake.
-Just yesterday I was doing Squats 3x5 @ 205 lbs (yes, it isn't much) and this guy was staring at me, either in awe or worry that I would collapse under the weight. Actually about 6 months ago I was doing 3x3 @ 205 and someone was staring at me too. What the hell? Nobody stared at me when I attempted 215 and 225. XD
-I also hate when people look at me while they're lifting. I just wanna go up to them and be like "If you can turn your head and look at me while you're lifting, then you're obviously not lifting heavy enough."
----------------------
This turned out to be quite a rant. XD
I try to be humble, cuz my lifts aren't really that impressive. But sometimes people just piss me off!!!

I swim competitively, and swim practice is actually at the gym I work out at (the coach lives there...literally. lol), so after swim practice I go to get changed and someone stole my fucking clothes (just some gym shorts and a plain white t-shirt), but luckily did not take my shoes. So that day, I did weights in a speedo and shoes. It was pretty humiliating at the time, but now that I look back on it...shit was SO cash.

Awesome :D
About 1.5-2 months ago I was doing my last rep of deadlift and my form broke on the way up. I pulled something in my lower back and it still hurts like hell now.
Another time I was unloading my barbell and one side was heavier so it flipped and broke my basement sliding glass door next to me. Had to pay a lot for that one.

Don't overlook the problem if it's still hurting. It's probably a serious issue if it's been like that for that long. Get as much help as you can to get it back in shape! You'll thank yourself later.

Bailing a full clean and rolling backwards onto my butt and then onto my back is embarrassing. Also, missing a box jump and scraping my shins all down the edge of the box, getting blood everywhere was great. Nailing myself in the chin occasionally on snatches is fun.
I wouldn't count any of these as particularly bad gym experiences though.

So how did you avoid the bar crushing your larynx after you fell?
I managed to end up snatching 205 and not quite making it, thus catching it on the top of my head a few days ago. But that wasn't bad at all, it was a controlled fall. I was doing a set of 20 squats a while ago and fucked up the last one, and somehow ended up lying on the floor with the bar over me and my chest on the floor. That was probably the worst that has happened, it didn't hurt but it was a bit too close for my taste.

Failing a 160kg squat, having the spotter fail to save it, and having to dump the bar forward into a rack. Fuck, embarrassing with a weight I could now crank out quite a few reps with!

No, my knee would explode.I think we just need to build strength, mainly at the bottom. I can get about halfway down into a pistol. I always start by maximally bending at the ankle to get some knee bend, then when I can't do it anymore I start folding at the hip. I'm not sure if that's the best way though.

When I was visiting the gym, one day my pants tore on the last set of squats. First a long crack down the ass and to the middle of the right thigh, then went the button and then everything dropped down to the knees. I did finish the set, despite doing last two reps half naked.

Haha, Shaedar! I've ripped my shorts / trousers / underwear plenty of times too.
My worst experience was when I was squatting & some guy tried to pick up a plate that was laying around my squat rack & as I descended into 'the hole' I smashed him on his back & the bar slipped backwards dislocating my right shoulder & tearing my left bicep. It was the last rep of my second working set so in extreme pain I managed to get the bar racked with the weight back on & finished the last rep & then completed my final work set, benching & deadlifting afterwards was hell, but I still managed to set some PRs.
