I think NOT tricking would let it heal faster.

Tricking would just increase the chance of you adding stress/injuring it more haha. Just rest man!

This wont help it healing too much, but a couple of people I know tape around their shin where the patellar tendon/ligament is and this greatly reduces the pain associated with it.

I think i have this...or some other knee problem.

i will feel fine doing anything standing up, but when i get in a low stance or kick landing on my leg there is a pain in my knee? is this jumpers knee... i think i got this from squatting and moving my foot that caused my knee to buckle inward. I let it rest for a few days and then i feel fine doing stuff, but after a session the knee pain flares up again. any advice?

It doesn't heal that fast. I fucked up my right knee back in the day, and my doctor was recommending unnecessary surgery as the answer, when really, I just needed a lot of rehabing. I rehabilitated my knee, and picked up tricks, but that just brought it back and made it worse. I stopped two years ago and my knee hasn't felt better. It took over a year off I'd say.

I ended up doing a lot of stretching, to relieve tension, and then walsits (I couldn't support any extra weight in that position.) From wallsits, I graduated to light DB squats, and then to light squats, and that seemed to really help. The best thing you could do, is stretchi the muscles around it, and strengthen them. I had a website that I posted back in the day, when Juji talked about this. I also made a more informative post, detailing my experience with it.

Don't exoect your knee to feel right for a long time, especially if you trick. It may never feel right again.

If you have the money, get an IT band release. If that doesn't work come and see me and we'll go from there.

I have jumpers knee (right leg) for a year now and it sucks, but I can trick with it so its quite okay I guess :). But what helped me a lot is this bandage (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mueller-Jumper%C2%B4s-Knee-Strap/dp/B000F8Y5OY/ref=pd_sim_dbs_sg_3) and prontoflex spray (http://www.docsimon.com/article/prontoflex-10-spray-1x-25g). The spray absolutely stopped pain after one week treatment, but you cant take it in a long term, so pain was back after two sessions :) but these two things really helped me. I feel pain mostly when Im doing sideflips, so Im avoiding them. If you heal your jumpers knee for good, let me know.

could you link me to that informative post? or maybe another link.

I'm hoping it may not be that bad. I haven't felt any pain lately, even if i get down into a low horse stance, jump or do leg extensions. I have no pain when i flex or contract my quadricep which may be a good sign I don't have a case of patella tendonitis.

Which kind of doctor should i be looking into in the phone book to check it out? I will be doing some rehab though and lay off the heavy stuff for awhile until i check it out and see what is causing it. any supplements i can take to halp heal it?
