I want to start training some hand balancing, at the moment i can hold a handstand for about 7 seconds (with a lot of shuffeling about) and i can go from a handstand into a headstand a press back up into a handstand (i find the lowering part the hardest to keep balanced). Should i just work these everyday until my balance improves? Or are there specific drills i should be focusing on? I seem to be pleanty strong for hand stand presses (i can do about 10 with someone holding my feet/against a wall) so it just my balance thats whack yo

Goals:
To be able to consistently hold handstands for 10 secs+
To be able to walk a significant distance on my hands (can only do about 3m at the moment)
Eventually be able to do one handed handstands

There is a comprehensive guide in this forum, just search for hand balancing.

well it seems u have good shoulder and arm strength, but u lack core strength.
I hate people always mentioning "balance". If u have strong back and abdominal (back is more important) muscles u will easilly stand for long period on your hands even its first attempt of your life. So get your core stronger.

Apparently for balance you just keep practicing over and over again. For endurance I usually read it saying to kick up against a wall for time.

The other really important thing is body alignment. Serious hand balancing aims to eliminate arching and piking.

Piking is when you allow the hips to flex or abduct right? Although training with that is another way (you see a lot of gymnastics girls doing this in pics) being able to align perfectly is the most challenging for balance definitely. Less stressful on the leg muscles too.

how long did it take for everyone to get pretty decent at handstands? ( balancing still for about 10+ seconds)
