I'm wondering. Would they be from not having strong hips, or not flexible enough hips?

When I do aerials (or rather try them), my hips hurt. Not from crashing, but from the movement. Same with b-kicks.

Any suggestions,

I don't know, but weighted squats helped a lot for my hips, i can even stretch side splits without hip pain now, mainly because the weight increased my hip motion range and something healed/strengthened/got more flexible or whatever and all is fine now.
