Whats difference does the sulfate make? I posted in Health and Nutrition, but I got no replies. Just wondering if anyone who frequents here and not Health and Nutrition would know.

Sorry, I don't know exactly. If you're looking into speeding up your recovery time, just take glutamine.

"To date, most of the clinical studies examining the effect of glucosamine on osteoarthritis have been performed with either the sulfate or the chloride salts of glucosamine." -www.pdrhealth.com
So if you're taking glucosamine with the idea that research supports its use, the sulfate version is a safe bet.

Here is a thread (http://www.trickstutorials.com/forum/showthread.php?p=123867#post123867) I replied to a week or so ago dealing with glucosamine/joint compounds and their benefits or lack thereof.

I use glucosamine sulfate from the dollar tree after I hurt myself and usually after I lift, it makes me feel wonderful.

I'm not even lying.

Glutamine is totally different.

I didnt say it wasnt. I said it would help speed up the recovery.

But the assumption that he was trying to speed up recovery was unfounded, considering glucosamine is a joint formula.

I said glutamine. And I was assuming he wanted muscle recovery.

You misunderstand. Compleks means since the original question had nothing to do with muscle recovery, only glucosamine(which is for joint health/recovery), you're glutamine suggestion was misplaced. In addition, Compleks knows you said glutamine and was thus pointing it out as a malapropos suggestion. So henceforth, do not assume muscle recovery is needed when glucosamine is in question, since the two are related to entirely different processes. :tomatoe:

Thank you Solid, I ordered some fish oils, and some glucosamine/chondroiton sulfate. I'll use your suggestion of fish oils everyday and glucosamine 2-4x a week and see what kind of results I get.

:good: Thanks

I have been supplementing Flax, and Liquid glucosamine/chondroition/MSM. I've seen results, but not as good as I would have liked.

Glucosamine prevents osteoarthiritis somewhat? That'd be a MUST HAVE supplement for all tricksters.

yeah glucosamine sulphate, is a nutrtion for joints, i have vague idea, but if i know, it is an aid help build damaged tendons, and other connective tissues and also to help make synovial fluid, which is a lubricant that helps to move skeletal joints more smoothly.......
quite good for tricksters, who is constantly doing 540s on hard concrete full of broken glasses, or twisting and landing onto hard playground, or landing on head while trying to a front samersault...

also to help make synovial fluid, which is a lubricant that helps to move skeletal joints

Synovial fluid is found in synovial joints. To my knowledge, there are other skeletal joints (synarthroses, ampiarthyroses) that do not contain synovial fluid.
