View Full Version : I do things on different sides
I've been putting off posting about this for a while because I've been trying to sort it out for myself but it's getting extremely annoying so I thought I'd see if you guys have any thoughts.
So basically I'm "Goofy" foot, which is supposedly kick with your left foot, hook with your right, turn clockwise.
So I take a goofy stance, but I am also right footed, so I kick with my right foot. I can twist equally both ways... But I aerial and B-Twist using a goofy foot set up... Eg... I take off with my right foot and land on my left... and I can 540, C7 with my right foot stance...
This wasn't a problem for a while but now I can see if I don't do something my progression will just be shit and I'll never really be able to combo anything.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so what do you do?

That's crazy bro. Probably you'll have to learn some of the same tricks over again on the other side good luck
I've seen your sampler and how you do things identical on both sides is amazing... However I really want to just progress on one side before I do :P
I can only just barely do a 540 with my left foot... What side did you start off doing things on?

Im goofy footed and I also had the same problem, for me all my spin intensive tricks like P7. Btwist, Doubleleg I was doing spinning to my left, but since my right was dominant kicking foot I was doing all my cheat tricks to the left.....I basically chose my left side (because I had more tricks I could do on that side) and built my progression all the way from the begainning on that side (start with basic kicks like spin hook, crescent etc.)....
My Jacknife is still tons better with my right leg even though I completly abandoned training it, but w/e you just have to deal with it and pick a side :ogre:
or you could put in that extra effort and become ambi (learn everything on both sides)

If you're right-handed trick left - general tip
Yeah I don't really want to learn Hypertwists again... But I just got my right foot 540 kick sooo nice :P It's an annoying little dilemma, I don't want to have to start training the absolutely basics again... But I think I'll have to.
Then all my tricking buddies will progress to the fucking moon and I'll still be down here on earth :(
@Ambi, I know this, this is the problem :P
OKAY NEW QUESTION!
What would rather relearn on your wrong side, All yours kicks, or your B-kicks/twists variations and aerial variations.

What kicks can you do?
And was it easier to learn the kicks or the btwist/aerial variations?

I can pop 720... 540... C7, Pretty much Class B stuff. I thought I'd address the issue before I got any further.
The kicks were far easier to learn.
Well I guess, after reading EmpRitz's little write up, I should re learn my aerial and my B-Twist... I guess it does make more sense though, push with your strong shoulder!
Thanks Emp <3

Thing is, perez has tricked for like, an eternity. Always remember that when comparing yourself against the very best.
why would anybody compare themselves against the very best? sounds kinda retarded.
