Hyper extensions are an exercise?

Eh? What you're describing doesn't sound like a hyper-extension.

I'm cringing merely by looking at that.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge when it comes to injuries. All I know, is I landed on my knee and fell back. Then the lower part of my leg bent more than my rom, for the first day I couldn't straighten my leg, but now I only feel moderate pain when I stretch it trying do something like stretch the quads. Get me? I wish I could be more specific....

Yeah its likely just a muscle strain, i dont think you can do a huge amount of damage 'hyper' flexing your knee as your heel gets stopped by your arse cheek. Unless you have flexibility issues that is.

Phils that's assuming that knee joint is kept square during the movement, if not all of the ligaments of the knee are in a pretty vulnerable position.

Ah yeah didnt think of that, if the knee passed laterally to the glute isnt that a common mechanism for acl damage?

So I probably did something to my acl? Well, it wasn't very swollen and I can move it laterally without really any discomfort or pain, so I'm sure I didn't tear it. The only time it does hurt like I said is when it is flexing. Is it possible to strain or pull your acl?

Basically you didn't just hyperflex your knee, but rather, it must have drifted sideways or something like that. It can happen if you try and sit between your feet like a lot of the japanese do, especially girls because of sexy internal hip rotation, but they cheat and do it wrong by getting RoM at the knees instead of the hips.

I had this and it didn't heal for ages because knee's are in constant use. I ended up needing a steroid injection into my knee to speed the healing. Worked a treat.

Generally with an ACL injury, you get a lot of swelling quickly [within a couple hours] and you can't bear weight on that leg. If you walked away, then the ACL is very unlikely. I'd still see a knee specialist if you can, because you may have damaged one of the other ligaments. A specialist will be able to figure that out very quickly, and probably without any imaging.

Any tear injury to the ACL is synonmous with a break - it would need reconstruction - not repair.

Did you hear any crunching/loud clicks? Was there a large amount of swelling after less than 24 hours?

Get it checked - knees are funny things and you need to look after them. The fact you are asking questions says to me you should already be finding yourself a specialist appointment. Do not expect it to be quick by any means though.

Don't care what anyone says, the only definitive diagnosis for ACL/meniscus injury is an MRI scan.

no there wasnt any major swelling. and i realize that the knee is very complicated and im not looking for a diagnostics, just a bit of enlightenment. my knees pop all the time. but there wasnt really any swelling, only from probably the impact it took from landing snapuswipes on my knees. i will go see a doctor asap, but its so expensive! thanks for your time though guys. i feel a bit relieved:)

Maybe knee traction will fix it!

im not sure if i should take that seriously or as a joke

It's a bit of both :) Basically I am thinking "hey, if you use your hamstring to stop your knee from pulling apart, maybe it will stop it form hyperextending so much!"
