So yeah.. basically it's a hyper-extended big toe, I got it in February from falling on my foot on the trampoline, and it's still difficult to put much weight on it without feeling discomfort or the toe being moved into an awkward position.

I've been seeing a pediatrist, and the only thing that we have going on was taping my foot, and then I got like 1k orthotics (foot pads, thank god insurance covered it), but I've yet to see results.

Should I just trust the doctor? Find a new one? I guess it's just disappointing not knowing how long I'm supposed to be out for and then going through these "treatments" that don't seem like they're doing anything.

I have read that the injury can take a while to heal, but these kind of things are always so freakin vague on how long it'll take -_- I just want to heal already.. at least enough to trick...

JUST WALK ON IT!

I have two club feet, I'm in agony pretty much every time I walk. Just about every tendon / ligament in my lower legs / ankles is strained / sprained.

I told you this injury would take a long time to heal.

I actually posted this on April 10th and it remains accurate, it's just a small example of how awesome I am.

Sounds like a case of turf toe. I hate to break it to you but this injury will last you for quite a whileeeee, longer than an ankle sprain probably would.

It depends on the kind of adhesive tape, but medical tape is made because its best suited for the job. Learn how to tape your toe for turf toe even though it probably wont help much.

Getting a second opinion is never a bad thing unless you can't afford it.

The "at least enough to trick..." part makes me laugh.

Yeah like there's anything more stressful on the feet :)

Anyway, if you flex your ankle more when you walk wouldn't that lessen the amount the toes would need to extend?

I got it last June and it finally healed completely (as far as I know) like a few weeks ago.

Anyway, good luck!

Hey man I had turfs toe for about two years, it's actually gone now, but only in the last few months, yeah it takes a while espcially if you keep stubbing it and banging it like I did, and it's strange i got turfs toe doing the exact same thing you did! just a crash on the trampoline, anyway, mine went when I saw a foot specalist who gave me foot implants that took pressure off the toe, I wore these for about 6-8 months then took them out and it pretty much cured it

hope this helps! i had a pretty bad case as well, my foot was actually curved because of it!

Holy moly, i have this exact same fucking thing!

Round about 1.5months I landed between a mini tramp and crash mat when i did mine, thought i broke it went and got an xray and turned out to be 'turf toe' it seriously sucks ass! Same with everyone above when you stubb your toe is the fucking worst. I was about for 2-3 wks and have just started back not long ago but holy shit you know about it when you Trick and land shit!

There is not much point going to see a doctor or anything unless you wanna get an xray to make 100% sure it's not broken, you just need to keep strapping it (if you can be bothered) and just let it heal itself... Good luck!

Funny because my friend Kevin also suffered from the same injury from trampoline.. it's a deathtrap :(

And yes Anfeyd you are awesome. robbate, I got my orthotics (shoe pads or w/e), so I guess they're effective, but did you need them in from 6-8 months? That's a freaking long time, and I've already been injured for like 3 months now :\

The only reason I don't want to see another doctor is because I really don't want to go through the trouble only to hear the same thing >.<

Thanks for the responses though.. good to know I'll heal.. eventually..

EDIT: Holy crap musky you're awesome, nice teaser.

How strange, maybe trampolines envoke it aha, yeah i had them for around that time, the i took them out and my toe was pretty much completly better, yeah man it sucks, i had it 2 years before i decided to actually do anything about it..

Your right there only tell you the same thing just keep being consistant with those orthotics they should do the job!

I thought trampolines were supposed to be easier on your joints and stuff... are these especially dangerous types or something? What is the safe trampoline which prevents this?

Aha obviously they are safe for joints and such, pretty much all trampolines are safe, depending on your skill and what your trying obviously, but your toes, don't have much support or muscle surounding them making it a easy target for a trampoline injury i guess, espcially if your taking off and landing on one leg at dogey angles trampolines were meant for two legs!

I wonder if there are special shoes, like those giant ones they wear in Kingdom Hearts, which would help with this.

I got it playing football earlier this year, and it took about 3-4 months to completely heal... just give it time, and just go at your own pace.

im scared i might have this too. i hit my toe quite hard on several occasions, most of them were on the trampoline. it doesnt hurt when walking or anything, but as soon as i hit it again it is so damn painful. and i have it with both of my big toes.
also the fact that my ankle is really fucked up and doesnt seem to heel doesn't really help with my tricking progress.
injuries :dead:

Saunders, damnit, I just realized CtU has 2 sequels, I just watched 2 and 3 for 08/09. Did you know there were two prequels, the evolution of and the last?

Sure! http://typequeen.newgrounds.com/flash

I first saw CtU on YT, I wonder if the author actually posted it. So many people just rip shit off NG and try to pass it as their own and stuff.
