Let us discuss over the good and bad types of food to eat for a snack at night before going to bed and also explain too haha

Exactly before bed?

I'd suggest something caesin protein heavy like cottage cheese, a source of fast (serotonin/melotonin response) AND slow carbs (something fiber heavy) like fruit with oatmeal, and a vitamin C tablet to activate enzymes responsible for collagen/bone/muscle/connective tissue repair overnight.

That'll do it.

Or, according to many doctors, don't eat before bed at all; many doctors believe that giving your digestive system a full eight hours worth of rest may be the greatest benefit you can give them through-out the day, especially with colon cancer on the rise.

EDIT: And don't even think about going with any cottage cheese lower than 4% milkfat. Your body can use that fat overnight for testosterone/growth hormone responses. Fat is an amazing tool. Besides, 4% tastes so goddamn good with fruit, and anything lower is simply ghastly.

It's really never given me any difficulties regarding sleep, and I usually go to bed when I'm tired, haha.

Confucius, could you enlighten me on what you mean? If there is something I'm missing here that is important enough to influence the timing of when I take my C, then I'd like to be educated, because I didn't know the timing made any difference. I'm not being sarcastic, I honestly want to know for future reference.

From what I have heard & read, Vit C has maximal effectiveness when taken with a meal, like your dinner, if not, then its' affects are almost completely lost, as only 70%~ of most suplements/vitamins are actually put to use.

Which is why I usually take Vit C with dinner, then fish oil at night (& also post-workout sometimes) w/ either a shake or CC. They are really the only suplements that I ingest.

Like if you fasted in the morning when you woke up or something like Warrior Diet? When we're asleep we aren't moving around and stuff so we won't vomit our food, but when we move around in the day, we want to vomit food if we move too hard after eating, so fasting prevents that (or light vegetables in small amounts).

i agree completely with dan. eating right before bed is what makes a lot of people fat. not only that but i think it makes it harder to have a good night sleep since your body is digesting when you are asleep. i also heard somewhere that milk before bed makes you more prone to nightmares. if necessary i will try to look up the info i just posted, though i guarantee nothing

I've always thought/felt vitamin had something of a whiplash effect on the CNS. It's most probably placebo though because you don't take it into account and you're much better informed (and I can't find anything on this whiplash effect)

I agree with decreasing the time that you're full of food. Lets the body repair and bolsters up the cells, and you can exercise and jump around whenever.

I don't see why milk in particular would do it (if it's a chemical in it, such a chemical would be present in other foods...)

I don't really think it's eating before bed that makes people fat, just eating too much in general and not being active enough. Roman soldiers used to feast before bed.

I think studies have showed that excessive amounts of Vitamin C increase the risk of kidney stones. Has anyone else heard that?
