My right leg is dominant. When I do a one footed backflip for example, I use my left foot to kick and my right foot to jump.

usually right legged people do it the other way around.
i do pretty much all my stuff to left. so if it's inside crescents or roundhouses i kick with my right leg, if outside crescents or hooks then with my left leg...

I must be gay, it's the only answer.
Honestly though it just feels strange jumping off my left leg.

Yeah you might be... *hug*
Gainer-type moves with my right leg kicking feels only natural.. and is the natural direction too.. If I combo rev gainer after a hook for example, it's the same spinning :)

im a natural right footer,i always thought jumping of my left leg was more natural because i had more controll over my right leg, therfor being able to controll the way my body moves more easily,do you think this is right or should i aim to jump higher with my stronger leg instead?
I'm right handed so my like my most people in this case my right foot is the dominant one. However when it comes to kicking it varies for me which leg I use; when doing a tae kwon do style side kick where you bring your leg from behind you and past the leg your standing on until it's finally out in front of you and you pivate to make it a SIDE kick, I kick with my right leg. However when throwing a karate style side kick where you kick with the leg that's already in front, I'm much better kicking with my left leg while standing on my right.

cool
ill probally carry on using my right as my kicking leg as it feels more natural!
still a good idea to train up both sides tho!
