Ok i went tricking yesterday and ther is this 15 year-old kid there..
About 3 weeks ago he couldnt make a standing backflip due to lack of height.
Yesterday i see him and he's flying into the air almost standing layouts!
He tried standard forward gainers, j-turn gainer flashes and front flips... hes soaring into the air.
now.. i asked him what he did to get so floaty and so much height.
He said something about deadlift.. now i have no idea what they are.. i googled it and it gave me some arm weightlifting stuff.
He was going on about attaching weight to his ankles then doing something.. the music was up too loud to hear anything so i noded away lol.
This obviously has had some effect on him so i wana try what hes doing.. hopefully with what ive explained what i heard, somebody will be able to tell me what excersise hes doing.

Well, deadlifts have nothing to do with ankleweights... So... fuck knows? Deadlifts are a very good excersize though. Works more than just your arms, its one of those whole body thangs.

oh ok lol. so are there any excersises that match this? That could improve your jump by so much in just a month?

Heh, everyone wants the month miracle. There are a few things you can do that will increase your vert significantly, but not all of them are about muscles.
Know, love, and rub yourself to Dogen's centre of gravity tut.
Pump your core when you jump. The harder your core is, the less it will absorb your leapage.
Focus on your limbal co-ordination. Any limb that isnt pushing down, should be flung up with all the might it can muster.
Skipping can add inches
The big 3 - Deadlifts, Squats and Clean and Jerk. These work your entire body, get the growth hormone pumping, and will increase your limbal co-ordination.
Its really hard to think about more than one thing at a time when you are hucking a trick, so I would suggest just thinking about one at a time. When one comes naturally, add another. Solid technique on its own will give you another half a foot in a month, easy. Hell, maybe even a leg.

I do plenty of push-ups, situps, squats at home. Im not looking to get that big hehe.. im pretty light so i wana stay it :tongue:
I got pretty decent muscle anyways... even if there not huge... there pretty toned.

A clean is basically lifting a weight of the floor up to your shoulders. You do a kind of jump thing half way though so its good for your vert. have a look at this:

It's possible he mentioned deadlifting (http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/ErectorSpinae/BBDeadlift.html), and then used the ankle weights in a separate exercise - probably he just wore ankle weights while tricking, or maybe while just running around or something. If he's 15, I wouldn't be surprised at him trying that.

Hm, you could wear an ankle weight on the back leg that's lifted in a one-leg deadlift, though I'm not actually sure what that might do...
