Wow, I've finally got over the fear without a spotter. This is how I did it for those people who like me, lose sleep over fear. (Then i'll state my problem)
Get the matress from your bed and stick it on the floor. Then land back on it a few times to show you it's not scary. If you have a really bad matress like me and it gets you winded, put some sheets on top, but remember the more sheets, the harder the move will be. But this is not important for now, put on as MANY as you feel comfortable.
Then do what it says in many tutorials, go into a sitting position, then practice falling back onto your hands. It took me about 30 minutes before I could do this without twisting out. Do this standing on the bed and keep doing it. Eat coffee beans and put on thrash metal if you wish, getting psyched is good, but don't frustrate yourself :P. I guarantee you, you will still be frustrated, but don't give up, drill this for an hour until you can fall back on your hands. You know it's safe because you've already fallen back on that mattress. The first time you fall back properly you won't expect it, because you will have expected to do it so many other times lol. Then try drilling the rest of the move, and take away cushions/sheets etc until you're just on the matress. Then take away the matress and use just sheets etc.
Ok my problem.... Whilst sweating away going back, I end up going in a backwards roll. My hands bend and my head ends up touching the ground. At first I thought my hands were too far back, but they were too far back because they bent. How do I stop this?
EDIT: Oh yea I do the pelvic thrust in the air thing, and it helps a lot.
