Okay, I am a newly started martial artist who have focused on making a backflip..
Standing out there in the snow I pull my arms high, let them go a bit down
put my legs barely 90 degrees and then pull my arms up again as I start my jump.
In other words I am making a backflip and then fall on my neck close to a unlimited times.
Those who still dont understand me Lets say I jump fall and land on neck with out ,making the flip..

Kinda gay problem and i fu**ing hate it... I get so pissed everytime i fail as usual...

Any1 help please....

I can't do this move myself but it sounds like you're forgetting to tuck out of fear as in your other post you say you can wallflip.

Try getting a spotter who can be there to support you so you can really give this move some balls without bailing harder than you are doing.

Also make note of your position. If your feet are a foot or more back from where they are it's also likely you're not jumping straight up, eliminating most of your air. Check out jujis tutorial. It covers all this. Oh yea also... Don't look up, with any flipping move, make sure your looking straight ahead.

EDIT: Sorry Synok, you were just posting there... But my theory remains :P

Okay thx man but i find it hard with tucking.. like when i put my hands to my legs then the time is over and i lay on my neck (again). damn... but i find it very hard. Its like i havent got time enough to do s*it when i jump... its like "ohh no gotta tuck now... too bad my time is over " and there i lay, flipped about 180 degrees and landed on my neck (again) lol...

Altho Ima try making a wall flip now. Any1 know if its easier or harder.
And another thing.. any1 got a tutorial how to make the wallflip?? I really need it...
Thx ppl!! :P

I'm gonna start doing backflips. Though I tried doing a backflip 20 mins ago using the tech of a back handspring because I managed to land on all 4's without my hands. PLEASE PLEASE don't do this in a cluttered house. I fucked it up after trying to backflip because I twisted a little. My leg is now numb with a huge bruise as big as my whole hand. I know backtucks should be done on the spot but I get scared too, so I thought I'd try it from bhs tech then slowly transferring it.

With tucking you just need to keep at it. Try not to bend down into the tuck as this cancels some of your back momentum. Also try stalling first which can be difficult from the fear. This means to do nothing until you are at the apex of the jump then do the flip. Good luck

yah i fucked up my knees attempting backflip i tucked in mid air landed on them and it hurt. i think that your probably jumping back because thats what i mostly did b4 and i landed on my face alot, you gotta jump straight up then while your at ur peak and u bring ur knees u can feel your body start to spin. look ahead and keep your body straight when you jump that tends to help too i havn landed this move yet the landing scares me idk y but it duz everything else i got down. i dont think snow is the best place to practice on.

I think it could help if you found a branch to hang from. Just hang on a branch, or a bar. Those rings attached to wires could be the best.
Get hanging from one, and bring your legs up, and feel it carry you over. Do that a lot, and maybe you'll develop some confidence in the fact that it actually does carry you around.

edit: When you're hanging from a bar, you don't necessarily want to flip, so be careful. Just bring your legs up and feel the force that should flip you over in a backflip.

try thinking of it as tucking your legs into your body not your body into your legs....my problem was moving my body forward instead of tucking my legs into my body...I crashed a shit load of times then tucked my legs not my body and span and landed on my stomach. I still haven't got it yet but I will soon.
