Ok guys, I'm having this problem, I have worked on a high frequency/intensity routine for the last 2 weeks. I was basically doing power cleans/military presses/bent over rows, adding weight like everyday, while going down on reps, doing that from Monday to Friday.

Yesterday (Friday) I didn't do it, and tried to do some chin-ups which I hadn't done for the 2 weeks. As soon as I started pulling, I got an instant burn on my arms, and I couldn't pull shit, I was probably able to do 3 tops, but I didnt force it, and normally I can do around 10 if I hit failure. The thing is I wasn't sore or anything, just couldn't lift.

Do you think thats some sort of CNS fatigue? Because it has happenned before, just when I got HSPU I could do 2 of them, then on the 2 weeks, and tried and tried and sometimes got 1, sometimes zero.

And if it is CNS fatigue, will it affect all lifts if I lift heavy like that?Any1 ever had this?

Thanks guys

Yes, especially if you were going to failure and if you were adding weight every day. That's not a high frequency routine, that's forced overtraining. You need rest and recovery on any routine in order to see gains and to grow.

Yeah it was too much, my original plan was to go 1kg a day, but i got carried away =P, I'm gonna do rep work next week, with 5kg dumbells, to rest, then the other week I'm gonna do this, for 3-4 weeks:

Monday to Friday, one set on the morning, one on the evening.

Deadliftx5, starting at around 60%RM, adding 1kg everyday

Pull-upsx3, adding and average of 2 reps per week, trying to get to comfortable 10rep sets at end of it.

Handstand pushupsx1, using the half a kg ankle weights I have, and trying to raise 1 rep per week, while taking of one negative, to make a total of 5 reps, trying to get 5 reps at the end of the 4 weeks.

So how does it sounds?I would probably change the hand positioning and etc every week just to make slight changes, like going from conventional deads to sumo, or from chins to pull-ups.

How does it sound?

Thanks
