how'd you get your abs and obliques?

i was wondering because i was checking my gorgeous self out in the mirror the other day, only to realize that my left oblique is noticably larger than my right oblique....which looks a little odd......tips on fixing it?

tips on ab work in general?

One solution to the abs: crunches and lots of them. Do exercises for all three major zones of the abdominals. Rinse. Repeat. Rinse. Repeat.

Low BF% gets you abs. Resistance training then gets you better looking ones. There's no trick or secret to it whatsoever.

High weight would cause big ripple-y abs, which can be interpreted as bad sometimes. Nicely toned abs would be acceptable.

Is it better to lose more body fat first, or to gain more size first?

first you bulk which means you build up muscle, then you cut which means you lose bodyfat. This equates to a good looking body if done right.

Crunches were mentioned; is that essentially the best way? How long am I suppose to hold them for, and how many times, sets, reps, resting periods....yeah...

-.- It's not a myth. If you do a high amount of crunches regularly, the abs will be toned is such a way to compliment it, just like other muscles. If you add a high amount of weight, the ab musclkes will grow is a similar way to the biceps or other such muscles. There's no myth to it.

It's hard to add mass and weigted ab excercises would be nothing but good. You are correct about the abs being no differnt from other muscles. But you still suck. The apperance of your "abs" are not being changed by your endless reps, they may have in the first few weeks or so but after that you are just working endurance. And you can't "tone" your abs you moron.

Mmmk. I suppose information I was given was wrong, however, I do 500 crunches at one time every day and my abs are great. Maybe I'm just a freak like that then. Who knows.

i've always had good abs...the gainer was me acting like an ass...the backflip is a true story...hurt like fuck....i am new to tricking...but i'm not gonna let the fact that i'mma kill myself tricking stop me from trying the stuff i know i cant physically do...i can be grossly overweight and still have good abs....

dan may be an idiot, maybe not...but you can't argue with results...if he actually got nice abs doing endless crunches, good for him.....i wonder how many of the people flaming him for this don't have abs at all?

I trick. I also lay and train all day in the sun during the warm seasons - so this gives me an aesthetic coloring. That's really it! :smile:

U have abs underneath all ur fat... u just have to find them. do lots of standing back tucks... that's actually a good ab workout if u do enough of them...

put your head and hands on the ground forming a triangle, keep legs straight, raise them vertical, bring them just over the ground (without touching), bring them up again. bring them down on each side left-center-right-center-left...
will also improve balance and blood circulation and functionnally strengthen back

another one: lie flat on the ground with your arms stretched horizontal, bring your knees up so your thighs are vertical and bring your upper body up at the same time, go back flat, back up again. more efficient than a stupid crunch (who wants to do 500 reps before feeling something? (beside a moron))
