I sprained my toe doing a backflip in baggy clothes after I just learned them in grade 7 but other than that not at all.

I broke my toe doing a gainer in my living room when I ended up kicking the coffee table. Does that count?

I almost broke my neck while attempting gainers on grass (slipped in cat poo, fell on my neck and passed out).

Broke both big toes, my left toe thrice.

Sprained ankles several times.

Sprained my thumb.

Tore a muscle in my left thigh.

Several muscle pulls.

Broke my nose, so it's it's all crooked inside now, and I can only breathe with one nostril at a time.

Broke my tailbone by landing on my heel very very hard. Yes, it went straight up my asscrack.

That was before I started weightlifting, mind you. Haven't had one single injury lately.

i have never seriously hurt myself tricking. just the odd pulled muscle and stuff.

hell, just yesterday i did a perfect gainerflash in 2 foot of snow, while wearing FULL winter combat gear (2 tshirts, fleece, Jeans full combat jacket, padded chest/back plate and combat trousers, balaclava and paintball facemask) and with an airsoft glock strapped to my leg.

and it didnt hurt me at all.

I'm completely new to tricking, and I'm 50 pounds too heavy to do anything.

Well...?

I broke my shin on a webster when i landed because my momentum carried me over my foot which then let my toes...yes my toes bend all the way up and touch my shin...OWCH!

Landed on my head doing a round-off backtuck because it was wet... and kicked a roof doing a back tuck and landed on my neck on concrete again <-- both within the space of 5 days!

landed on my head... if there wasn't a crash mat, i don't konw what kinda shape i'd be in.

I landed square on my head too.. .got like a spinal shock of sorts and my back ached for a couple weeks.

(Altho i probably wouldn't have tried that move without a crash pad... but ya, not the point).

Well ive broken the plate in my knee while attempting a backflip on a wooden floor, i happened to bite through my lip at that point aswell. Yes i did just say through. Altogether they took about 4 months to heal

Ive bruised the bones in my ankles doing a wallflip. Which ive only jus healed from, i did it about 4 months ago, it does take that long to heal.

Im gonna end it by saying im prone to injury. In the 16 months ive tricked, ive spent half of it healing broken bones. not to mention the days that ive had pulled muscles from tricking too much

Dan
Mar-14-06, 10:42 PM
What exacly is bruising a bone?

Hmm, nothing really worth saying due to tricking, but there are plenty from martial arts. Pulled hamstrings, sprained ankles, dislocated shoulder, just general aches and pains here and there, nothing too severe though. At least not yet, hahah.

Dan
Mar-14-06, 11:16 PM
Soon Zeff, soon. Where in Ontario are you? I used to live in St. Cathrines, if you know where that is.

Zeff
Mar-14-06, 11:19 PM
My dad lived there as a kid. I live in Kitchener/Waterloo.

Dan
Mar-14-06, 11:20 PM
I have no idea where that is...how close to St. Cathrines, or Toronto?

getting back to the topic....

i havent really fucked up that badly..

erm though i have:
-fucked both ankles doing roundoff layouts on numerous occasions
-Fucked both ankles learning brandys/baranis
-Fucked my back in learning 540s back in the day
-fucked my groin muscles so bad i couldnt move my leg from landing a bad 540
-Landed on my neck doing a gainer...
-got the WORST whiplash ever crashing a 1080 (two days ago!)
-Fucked my toe trying an a-twist (weeks ago, and still hurts)
-overrotated a roundoff backtuck (overrotated) and landed on my back/neck.

not alot really, nothing major though, ive never broken anything.

oh man, i remember when dave was learning btwists... he broke his hand, six weeks later when that was healed he broke his ankle doing them.

i still have the btwist ankle break clip, you can hear the crunch! :good:

Nothing serious, but I have almost continuous bruising on my feet... they heal, then I get them back when I trick again :D

I've also done *something* to my knee bailing the last gainer in a gainerswitch-swingthru-gainer combo.

I went to Whistler for a week at the beginning of February to snowboard, and on the second day I went off a big table and I just fucked up a BS 360 indy over it. As soon as I went off the lip, I got thrown backwards, sailed like 25 feet through the air and landed on the back of my left shoulder. People say bone breaks are pretty loud, but I didn't hear a thing when my collar bone snapped. I actually felt the bone break and the broken ends slide past eachother. It was the most agonizing experience ever. The collar bone is one of the most painful bone breaks. To top it off, I had to sit in the cold snow for 20 minutes, freezing my ass off, while we waited for the ski patrol to get there. On the plus side, they thought my shoulder was dislocated so I got to try laughing gas while they jerk my arm around trying to pop it back in. It has been a month and a couple weeks since it happened, and I'm finally going back to work.

What exacly is bruising a bone?

yes i know that sounds very confusing but it is possible, and it is much worse than breaking a bone. When you bruise your bone, it pretty much means its really close to breaking, but not enough force was put in teh right direction for it to break. I dont know if im right about that, im just taking a guess on it. Broken bones take like 2 months max usually to heal. a bruised bone will take at least 4 months to heal, thats just to get it from not hurting when your not even using it. Then u have to wait mayb another month or 2 untill u can use it fully again. It sux, trust me, i had it in my ankle. worst place to have a bruised bone, coz it makes it hard to walk.

it took me a year for that to heal, and it still hasn't healed fully yet. i bruised a bone in both my fingers, the right one still hasn't gotten better and it's been close to a year now.

also, i twisted my lower back really bad. it seems to have healed now, but i'm still scared to b-twist.

Wow, all of my injuries have been in the past month.

First injury was a severely bruised heel (it almost broke from impact) from practicing cart-fronts on a mat, but landing off of the mat onto the hard wooden floor. One foot landed softly, but I smashed my other foot into the wood cuz I'm stupid :dead:.
I was pissed too, cuz it was the first one I landed.

Second injury was a broken nose from being stupid and trying a gainer off of something. First of all, I can barely backflip. I was at the gym, and decided, I'll just try a gainer. No, I crashed on my back cuz I slipped up and my knee came crashing down onto my face. Broke my nose in three different places.

I didn't even know you could break your nose in three places.

I've had quite a bit of injuries since I started... hmm...

*insert the transition to flashback*

Pulled abs when I overtrained backtucks.
Groin strain when learning 540s.
Re-hairline fractured my heel when learning btwists on concrete.
Damaged my wrist when first trying to cork.
Dislocated my pinky toe over 10 times when learning Rudys and Double fulls (which I lost anyways...)
Face burns from landing on my face in plyo when trying to cork.
Knee damage from bailing on to knees on corks and hypertwists.
Subluxation of my right knee when trying hyper corks.
Left groin strain learning bad side 540s.
Just recently: Shin splints from tumbling on grass.
Patellar tendonitis on both knees (came originally from volleyball, but tricking brings it back).
Damaged meniscus on my left knee.
Strained calf on left leg from tumbling on grass and landing poorly.

BAMF! That's it I think.
