i have good form on my backhandsprings, although alot of times my hands land in the same spot my feet were. ive tried to just complete the motion without the hands, but it dosent seem to work. is this a good start?
yup, well it helps you get over the fear of going backwards, but not in terms of technique since they're two different moves requiring different technique. Good job dude

the reverse is true majorly, I got a bhs super fast after I learned a good back tuck, I'm teaching my uncle who can do a bhs to do a backflip soon, but im not sure how much it will help him cause we haven't started yet.

no its doesnt really help.
being comfortable going backwards helps a lot but thats the only similarity between the 2 moves
in fact if you think of a back tuck in terms of back handspring you could fuck yourself up.
back tucks go UP!
back handsprings go BACK!

Yea true, basically practicing Back handsprings helps you get over tha fear to help you prepare for the BackTuck but it wont help you with the technique itself :eh:

yeah two moves witch totally different technique, It's highly recommended to learn backflip first. Bhs can really fuk up your bflip - really bad habit of moving backwards.

If anything, a BH would help something like a whip back, but not so much a back flip.

They will help with the fear, and that's about it.

I have a good b-flip, but can't bhs. Just jump up and toss a backflip.
