Ive read In a certain backflip tutorial that when tucking behind(grabbing behind your knees when you tuck) you lose some speed, and that tucking in front gives you a faster spin.. Is this true??

Its all personal preferance.

If you want to tuck behind because you think it makes you go faster, go ahead. But the only way to determine which will make you spin faster is to find the center of gravity of your body when its in the tucked position and see what tucking position makes you arms closer to that place.

The difference is most likley negligable though. but if you think that you can go faster by tucking behind then your mind might make you alter your body position to whatever will spin faster.
Psycology is neat.

if you tuck behind your legs you don't have to resist any motion to put your hands there so you don't have to move your body foreward to tuck, its my prefered method (even though i don't do it in my avatar, old clip)

i prefere tucking in the front, but as it was allready mentioned this is a personal decision
