Hey, I can backflip now but still get scared every now and then. Especially when I do a standing back, as I end up 2 feet in front of me. this vid is me doing 3 tucks from running, anybody got any ideas on how to improve my form, as I don't get particulary high? Cheers

rnt they reverse gainers ??.... u probably woulda landed em all without the matts neways

Nah, I took off with both feet. The mats were there for confidence reasons lol. Do you recon I should try them outside then? And maybe do a 1 step takeoff like in Dogens tutorial?

Because I can rarely get it straight enough lol. It's an idea though. I'll work on getting that in the gym tommorow :)

or you could go from standing.... it looks like your doing them pretty high, I mean your doing them onto something higher than your takeoff.

Yea, standing backs are a lot more scary for me. I tried one from a mat, and I went forwards 2 feet and landed off the mat heh. So I guess my technique is good? I just need to do some more stuff. I'm going to the gym tommorow, I'm gonna try out some gainers maybe.
if u do it from standing i really think that u can land it. cuz ur doing a backflip to somthing higher. so try it out standing, and i bet that you'll be soo happy for landing the shit out of it. :wicked: lol

i agree. Get the back tucks before moving onto gainers tho.

My problem is that when I do it standing I gain the hell out of it. I can still land it, but it's a bit unnerving when you land 2 feet in front of you and nearly fall off the mat. I did some yesterday after complaining for an hour that I was too scared to do it, then I did some ok ones with a mat in front of me and a mat behind me.... lol. Then I faceplanted..
I was just wondering if I utilised good technique and did I do things at all the right time?
Why not go from round off.
