Hey, I've started tricking, My main problem right now is my tornado kicks. Everytime I get up and turn atleast 90 degrees, my non-kicking leg stamps down before my kicking leg gets over and lands. Got any tips or another tutorial somewhere I could use?

In a tornado kick, your non-kicking leg lands first anyway...

I'm 99% sure of that.

general tips for tornados:

keep drilling
concentrate on POWER and SPEED ...NOT the landing
seriously, if you think you can add more power in your tornados, then do it... and if you tihnk your tornados cant get anymore powerful than it already is... then think again and add more power... then and only then are you worthy to post back here

oh yea, and once u have enough power (enough power means speed and power come 2nd nature each time you do it), tuck in your nonkicking leg and bam... 540

of course you're not done there. at this point, you want to clean up your 540 and that can take just as long as learning them

Edit: oh yea... go for height too

How do I gain more height into a 540? I understand the blocking stuff... but I can't get into a 45 degree to push off.

i was actually talking about height in the kick.

but for height of the entire move itself... just... keep drilling and extend your leg hard all the way to the toes when jumping. there may also be a very slight stall as well.

also, i dont tihnk u can block in a standard 540

Yeah you can't block, you are jumping straight up. If you're having trouble with your tornado, just keep on doing inside crescent kicks until they get so easy and high you don't have to think of them. My tornado didn't work in the very beginning because I wasn't flexible enough and I didn't have enough power.

i find tornados and 540s to be completely different

like juji spams randomly in his written 540 tutorial, HIP FLEXORORORSZZOZOZOZOZORZRZZZZZSSSZZZZZ

thats what i found to be different. in a 540 you just gotta get ur hip in there, where as for tornados i have pretty good dynamic hamstring flexibility and my kicking leg just flies out and up on its own.

maybe this will help?

the reason why u think their different is maybe you throwing 2 different kicks. round and crescent. if you make a path for the kick it will feel much smoother and easier.

Well to anwser your question simply, a Tornado Kick is supposed to be landed on the non kicking leg, your doing nothing wrong, unless you're meaning a 540?
