Default can sideswipe, cannot raiz

Tonight, I practiced raizes. I suck at them. I tried sideswipes. They came to me beautifully. When I sideswipe, I think raiz switch. So after I learned sideswipe, I tried to raiz by doing an un-switched sideswipe, and it looked a little bit better.

Can someone help me fix my raiz?

Also, do you think I could land the cheat720twist?

You're approaching raiz the wrong way. Get rid of the mindset of floating in the raiz. This can give a bad habit of actually thinking that you should just throw yourself up and just wait to land like a sack of shit. Which causes people to turn their torso too early, kick too early and to the side.
What you need to do is really kick that leg up and over you - hard and fast and keep kicking through the whole move. Waiting a bit longer before turning your torso. That's what really gives the illusion of floating in a raiz.

Raiz and gumbi are somewhat similar in their setup and takeoff. So do a couple of gumbis and emulate the take off. Raiz is kind off an aerial where your turn your torso to the other side, if that makes sence.

In my experience, sideswipe and raiz are quite different in their setup. Same goes for c720 twist too btw. I really don't know whether you'll land the c720twist or not - the best way to find out would just be to try. But if you don't understand the setup or the technique properly, you'll experience that it'll be really random for you, coming and going all the time.

Edit: I know I make it sound really complicated, but it's not. It's really just a gumbi take off and kicking through untill you land.

An important aspect, is the left leg, as sideswipe and raiz are counter parts, they still both have an underlying technique that you need to apply to them both in order for them to work out.

LEG LIFT - your setup doesn't let you properly use your leg lifting potential, (notice all those guys with sweep> raiz, it's cuz the sweep gives em mad circular rotation and enough room to actually get ur left leg useful!)so lift it up, really hard, and keep kicking through the move.. it helps u do the rotation, (rather than relying on floating and hoping u land in the right position lol)

OPEN UP - after learning to fix ur setup, and applying essentially the lifting aspect of this move (beside ur arms) goes onto the next technique u apply in both raiz and sideswipe, the back arch! It feels like a really quick and hard, forceful arching of ur back, as if u had tits and u wanted to show em off. this creates inversion, and opens everything up, so u can get ur arms, and everythign ready to s/t. (if ur doing raiz) for sideswipe, applying this technique gives it the proper raiz- prequisite, in which u hit BEFORE u apply ur swipe technique.

Zelu, you're not really throwing your chest down, just like you don't throw your chest down in a webster. Really nice combo though
