1- The Game.

2- Do some horse stances and squats. You need to condition. Then, it'll be easier. :D Also, do some stretching. The reason your leg isn't straight is because you're trying to lift it too high. One of friends does the same thing. Just lower your leg a little. He never took my advice though... never does.

I found it easier to do it with a walking/jogging/running setup. A c-540 has always been a little more difficult. Try it!
Mine aren't all that great, but they're a good example of what you should try to do.

It's clearly a lack of practice/matter of poor technique, not a lack of strength, that causes his 540 to be how it is.

You don't really need that much flexibility to do a 540. The reason for his leg to be bent will be more along the lines of him trying too hard to land on that leg/just pulling it over instead of really kicking it.

that's not the proper form of a 540 though. The reasons why this advice isn't that great are, that it isn't comboable mid or at the end of a combo, and it distracts from the right technique while learning the trick, because the momentum will make you land no matter how shit the trick is, plus it probably aids the intention of just jumping on the other leg.

you aren't even doing a setup. they look good though, I just wouldn't advise someone whos struggling with 540s to replicate what you're doing because it probably won't help him.

Please don't take this personally, conditioning and stretching, though pretty generally, are never bad advises, I just don't think they matter that much in most cases. Apart from that I just thought your advise wasn't really that good sorry.

Sounds fine to me.
I can do all of the setup variations, I just prefer not to. (I'm sure you know that by now).

For that part on setups about using the other leg to jump... So right. I tried teaching my friend (who can't do it at all yet), and he tries to jump off of both legs instead of blocking with one.

Thanks for all that delicious info :D

o.o MEGALOL misunderstanding
I wasn't telling him to do it on one leg without setup, of course that's the hardest way.
